Wii U error won’t let Japanese users access eShop, firmware update, DQX beta
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 0 comments
Some Wii U owners in Japan are having issues launching the eShop and are also unable to apply the latest firmware update. Instead, they’re receiving error code “105-3102”. This also means that it’s impossible to start up Dragon Quest X’s new Wii U beta at the moment.
The issues are caused a program inside the console, Nintendo says, which will soon receive a patch. Users can expect an update sometime this weekend.

Ubisoft responds to PETA’s criticism of whaling mechanic in Assassin’s Creed IV

– Ubisoft senior PR manager Stone Chin
Eh, that’s a fair response. Hiding behind the guise of “it’s historical!” is more or less false considering that “glorification” implies you’re stretching the truth to make things seem cooler than they were, but simply stating “sorry, it’s a game, get over it” is completely fair, and I would be obliged to agree with that sentiment! They aren’t being historical, but too bad, it’s a piece of storytelling.
TT Fusion: A Skylanders-esque LEGO game won’t be happening any time soon, according to lead developer

Speaking with NowGamer, TT Fusion’s lead developer for the upcoming LEGO City: Undercover has said that the studio isn’t looking at making an NFC-based, figurine-attached game using LEGO figures anytime soon, despite the facts that such an idea would clearly be ridiculously popular, and the Wii U Gamepad already has NFC technology built into it.
Perhaps the studio simply wants to release their new game first, see what kind of press it gets, and then think about doing something new and interesting like that. Something tells me they’ll be more interesting in simply making another open-world LEGO City game though.

Ubisoft “optimistic” about Wii U, always likes to see price drops
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Podcast Stories, Wii U | 0 comments
Let’s face it: sales of the Wii U simply aren’t up to snuff. There are likely two reasons for that – a lack of games and a high price point.
Ubisoft’s executive director for EMEA territories Alain Corre told EDGE that while the company is “optimistic” about the console, it “always” likes to see systems at a low price point – perhaps hinting that Ubisoft would be interested in seeing Nintendo make a move in this area.
“Always. We always want the hardware to be at a low price because we want as many fans as possible to afford to buy our games, so that’s for sure. We think that Wii U will find its public at some point. Some were expecting sales to be quicker but we are optimistic. I think Nintendo has said that the Wii U sales in general were below expectations originally and the software tie-in ratio is also stable, so I think that when less machines sell, less games sell.”
According to Corre, Ubisoft saw a “productive” Wii U launch. He spoke about how the publisher tends to throw a lot of support towards new consoles when they first hit the market:
“It’s part of the Ubsoft DNA to be first on new technology and to innovate – and also release some games that have created some good momentum that we can use for the future. If we globalise all that we did and consider all of that then what we did on Wii U for launch was productive.”
