Wii U

There have been plenty of Wii U boxarts shown thus far. But what do the back of the boxes look like?

Let’s take a look:

As a bonus, this is what the spine looks like:

There were a few notes found on some of the boxarts for Ubisoft’s games. They are as follows:

Today’s Wii U commercial is just the start of Nintendo’s television advertising. What we posted is apparently “a compilation of pieces that will run”, IGN’s Rich George suggests.

Nintendo will also be debuting the commercial for one of its first Wii U games tomorrow, New Super Mario Bros. U. We’ll have that on the site in the afternoon.

While I wouldn’t be at all surprised, an Ubisoft product manager seems to have revealed that the Gamepad can output in 3D. At an AC3 press event, they said that Assassin’s Creed III would support the functionality on both the television screen (if you have a 3D TV) and the Gamepad screen, making for a “dual-screen” 3D experience.

Of course, we’ve heard no comment on the matter since then from either Ubisoft or Nintendo, but given that the console itself supports the feature on the television, one would assume that it also supports it on the Gamepad. We can hope.
