The upcoming Wii U game ‘Tekken Tag Tournament 2’ is shaping up nicely, even more so now that Namco Bandai has announced collaborations with various manga artists to work on the costumes for characters in the game. Here’s the full list as we know it:

Jaycee: Mutsumi Inomata
Alisa: Shigeto Koyama
Miguel: Ryouji Minagawa
Anna: Ito Oogure
Heihachi: Simon Bisley
Kunimitsu: Katsuya Terada

Additionally, we’ve got screenshots and a trailer featuring the costumes, posted after the break.

Thanks to Jake for the tip.

Nintendo has traditionally been an exhibitor at Gamescom. This year, however, the company has decided not to attend the show.

It still isn’t entirely clear why Nintendo is pretty much skipping out on the expo, but a PR group has provided an explanation – somewhat.

Bergsala PR Manager Patrik Johansson stated:

“Whilst Gamescom is a fantastic show, Nintendo has taken the decision not to attend this year’s event. Instead Nintendo is planning a number of sampling events later this year inline with the European Marketing-, PR- and Event-activities in which Nintendo´s fans will have the opportunity to play upcoming games. Further details will be announced soon.”

Capcom’s Gamescom 2012 conference is done and over with, but none of the news was Wii U-related (and there was nothing about Monster Hunter Tri G…).

Now, we do know that Capcom has at least one Wii U project in development. Apparently this game will be shown “very soon.”

According to Capcom’s head of marketing for US and Europe Michael Pattison:

“There is a rumour that we are working on a Wii U game. It won’t be at this show. But we do have something waiting in the wings, and we will be talking about that very soon.”

Will this Wii U title be another version of a multiplatform title? Will it be an original game? A new Okami (yes please)? Capcom’s newly announced Remember Me could be a good fit on Wii U…

The mystery developer behind the Wii U version of Mass Effect 3 has been revealed. According to BioWare’s Melanie Faulkner, Tantalus Media is handling the porting process.

About a month ago, we heard that Tantalus was working on a AAA port – looks like Mass Effect 3 was the project in question.

While Tantalus does have a great deal of experience working with Nintendo platforms, the studio’s previous work doesn’t exactly scream high-quality. Still, EA seems to have quite a bit of faith in the company, so hopefully they’ll churn out a respectable port.

Now that we’re starting to close in on a Wii U release date announcement, speculation is running wild. The latest rumor, coming from Kotaku, concerns the console’s Australian launch.

The site reports that Nintendo will ship Wii U on December 6. An unnamed Australian retailer provided Kotaku with the unconfirmed date and also said that every pre-order at EB will be fulfilled.

Nintendo won’t say when it plans to launch Wii U, but a December 6 release date isn’t entirely far-fetched. When the Wii came out, it launched on December 7 in Australia, which is also a Thursday.

We’re probably about a month away from an official Wii U release date reveal. Nintendo is expected to share launch information sometime next month.
