Bandai Namco hiring for “Smash Bros. 6” which launches next year
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Wii U | 21 Comments
Bandai Namco recently put up a rather interesting job posting for “Smash Bros. 6”. Although it was taken down after being discovered by various outlets, it mentioned that the game will be released next year on Wii U and 3DS.
Here’s what you should know about the job listing:
– Project currently being worked on by 120 staffers
– Number expected to increase to 200
– Team needs programmers for various roles
– They’ll be put into different teams to handle characters, stages, 3D programming, motion, game mode, mini-games, menu, UI, and more
– Message on the recruitment page:
“Social games are currently a big hit, but the current state of job opportunities for making retail games is critically low. In the midst of this, this will likely be your only chance to be part of a development project for the Smash Bros. [series], which has surpassed a total of 10 million in worldwide sales. And Bandai Namco believes that now is the best time to recruit programmers for retail games.”
– Only 3 Smash Bros. games thus far
– Wii U/3DS games would count as the fourth
– The two games have generally been thought of as “Smash Bros. 4”
– “6” could be a typo
– Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS may have been delayed into 2015
– Another possibility is that Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS are the fourth and fifth in the series, and Smash Bros. 6 is an entirely different/updated version of the game being released next year
– Tatsuya Matsumura, a consultant who uploaded the ad, seems to still have all of his other recruitment ads live on the website
– Matsumura appears to have been in the business of a career consultant to connect developers and software companies with programmers and engineers since 2011
He currently specializes in getting people in touch with gaming and software developers, and has successfully helped the recruitment of over 2,000 people thus far

Has LEGO The Hobbit been delayed a couple of weeks on Wii U? Major retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop are all listing an April 22 release date. All other versions of the game are expected out on Tuesday.
We did attempt to reach out to Warner Bros. a few days ago, but have yet to receive a reply. If we do hear back, we’ll be sure to share the latest information about the Wii U version of LEGO The Hobbit..
No more Sonic Lost World DLC planned
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 4 Comments
SEGA ended up creating three different pieces of DLC for Sonic Lost World. We saw content based on Nights, Yoshi, and The Legend of Zelda.
Those who may have been hoping for more Sonic Lost World DLC will be disappointed to hear that there’s nothing else planned. Producer Takashi Iizuka told 4Gamer in a recent interview:
You can see from our design of the DLC introduction page on our official site, we decided from the beginning that we would do three pieces of DLC. We are continuing to make it free, which is a bit difficult for SEGA, since both Yoshi’s Island Zone and The Legend of Zelda Zone were both in collaboration with Nintendo, but SEGA doesn’t have any kind of tradeout from there (note: means this next DLC is not being funded by another source).
Iizuka also mentioned to 4Gamer that for the Zelda DLC, working with Nintendo went smoothly. “We were able to work with so much material in the making of The Legend of Zelda Zone,” he told the site. “I have to say, in making Dodongo’s Cavern into a cylinder-shaped stage, we were all able to easily agree on it.”
As for what lies ahead for Sonic Team, Iizuka said that he’s not in a position to discuss anything at this time.
We’ll have a few more quotes from Iizuka’s interview with 4Gamer within the next couple of days.
