First-of-its-kind Music Video Game Capturing The Beatles’ Extraordinary Music, Career and Legacy Available 9/9/09 in North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Other Territories
Guildford, UK – 8th September 2009 – Apple Corps, Ltd., MTV Games and Harmonix, the world’s leading developer of music-based games and a part of Viacom’s MTV Networks (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B), today announced The Beatles™: Rock Band™ will be available tomorrow in North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and other territories. Released simultaneously with the digitally re-mastered Beatles CD catalogue, the music-based video game will offer players an unprecedented, experiential progression through the music and artistry of The Beatles and be available for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Wii™ console from Nintendo.

From the early touring days in 1963 Liverpool to the immortal, final performance on the Apple Corps rooftop, fans can follow in The Fab Four’s footsteps as they traverse the globe during the height of Beatlemania, unlocking real photos and videos of The Beatles – some never before seen by the public. Beatles fans will also be thrilled to hear previously unreleased authentic voice recordings from John, Paul, George and Ringo chatting between takes during studio sessions recorded at Abbey Road more than four decades ago.

“Well the thing with Rollcage, WipEout, F-Zero as well, they’re all classic, classic games. They, F-Zero and WipEout, had you floating through the scenery, you were just sort of swaying left and right, we’ve got full physics, and we’re pushing the Wii to the limit to make the physics work. We like to think we’ve pretty much got it to the edge, yeah, right to the edge.” – video game creator/Wheelspin developer, Archer MacLean

To be honest, I haven’t been too impressed from what I’ve seen from Wheelspin. However, it still may be an enjoyable title and I’d like to get my hands on the game before making any final judgments.

Monster Hunter 3 details

Posted on 15 years ago by (@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 2 Comments

– hunter data can be stored in the Wiimote, then used in 2p Arena mode
– game from scratch, proud of “rich, breathing, living” ecology system (small monsters grouping against big ones, item reaction, etc)
– main reason for the game being on the Wii: you have Classic for MH fans and intuitive Nunchuk for new players. Not just because of waggle, but they love the not rigid, claustrophobic part of it (with separated, relaxed hands).
– They know voice chat is a minimum for western users.
– Community side growing step by step. They’re seeing people from the UK, for example, posting for meeting and playing. They’d love to expand the MH Festa concept and decide the best hunter in the world.
– “great to hear!” praise/pressure feeling from Team Zelda. A lot of time spent in visuals. They think they’re the best on the Wii.
– they need new challenges to think about other platforms. Now, they’re very happy with this controls and I+D team say you can’t go back to classic.
– Conversations with Nintendo about western promotion haven’t started. “We’ll request all of that!” (asked about merchandise, black controller, etc).
– They explained Kurupecco cry-mimic capabilities. And if you show the torch to your cats, they’ll start dancing.

There doesn’t appear to be a huge difference, but the changes mostly lie in the beam cannon graphic effects. For example, you can see that Samus’ cannon does not freeze when charging up the ice beam.
