Online functionality is a significant aspect in TMNT: Smash-Up
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 2 Comments
Slowly but surely, more games are beginning to support the online capabilities of the Wii. Because of this, the developers of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up understood that including Wi-Fi connectivity in their title would be important. Here’s what two developers of the game had to say in a developer diary regarding the online functionality in the game.
“Online I would say is everything to this title…Having online extends the replay value of the game infinitely. You can just play people everywhere.” – John Teymoorian, Assistant Producer
“The online is a big deal for fighting game fans…A lot more games on the Wii are suddenly becoming online and we know this was going to be very important for the fans” – Matt Leunig, Associate Producer

Retro Studios may return to the Metroid series in the future
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 5 Comments
This information comes from the Retro Studios video tour/developer interview which we posted yesterday…
“Of course I’m sad to see her go. But those things have a way of creeping back. I think Retro will always be associated with the Metroid Prime franchise. And who knows, maybe we’ll do another one some day.” – Michael Kelbaugh, President & CEO of Retro Studios
Personally, I would love to see Retro work on one more Metroid game. For now I’m happy that they’re developing something different, but I know that I’ll always remember Retro for successfully handling Samus’ transition from 2D to 3D.
