Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 0 comments
“2009 will see the release of the studio’s [Action Pants] first title, a sports game developed exclusively for Wii. This new intellectual property will expand upon Ubisoft’s recent success in the sports genre with the Shaun White Snowboarding franchise.” – Ubisoft press release
Shaun White Snowboarding was released on the Wii, so the company does have experience with creating sports games. The question is, what type of sports game is Action Pants developing?

Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 0 comments
SEGA of America, Inc. and SEGA Europe Ltd. have today announced Let’s Tap, a game that is blazing new ground in Nintendo Wii control design. Developed by Prope, the studio that Sonic the Hedgehog creator Yuji Naka established in 2006, Let’s Tap is the first product from the new studio to be released to in North America and Europe. Developed exclusively for Nintendo’s Wii system, Let’s Tap utilizes a ground-breaking control scheme where the Wii controller is placed on a box or flat surface so that the controller can detect minute vibrations. Players of all ages and skill levels then tap the box or flat surface to interact with the game; there’s no need to hold the controller. Let’s Tap is slated for a summer 2009 ship for the Nintendo Wii in North America and Europe.
“Let’s Tap offers a new and innovative way of playing on the Wii which only a videogame legend such as Naka-san could have ever possibly imagined” Commented Gary Knight, European Marketing Director SEGA Europe. “It’s such a simple yet genius concept and still easy to pick up and play, everyone will be tapping away before you know it!”

It’s unclear which platform the screenshots are from but I think it’s safe to say that this isn’t the DS version.

Step into the shoes of the legendary hero, Indiana Jones, in an all new epic adventure! Set in the year 1939, Indiana Jones® and the Staff of Kings™ follows the rogue archaeologist on an all-new globe-trotting quest.
From San Francisco’s Chinatown to the lush jungles of Panama, Indy must use his whip, fists and wits to fight through ruthless opposition as he spars with his nemesis, Magnus Völler, in a race for a relic of biblical proportions — the Staff of Moses.
Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings features completely interactive environments, where players need to call upon their wits and daring to make each spring-loaded environment a weapon in order to dispense of foes in clever and unexpected ways. Also, embark upon thrilling action sequences that remain true to the spirit established in scenes such as Indy’s pursuit of the motorcade in Raiders of the Lost Ark, the mine-cart scene in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and the free-for-all aboard the tank in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Rumor: Friend codes, 16 players online for The Conduit
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii | 9 Comments
Nintendo Power promised the scoop on The Conduit’s multiplayer mode, but a few early details have apparently been released. If the latest rumors are to be believed, The Conduit will support 16 players online and will include friend codes. This information allegedly comes from High Voltage Software’s Matt Corso, but there is not an official confirmation. Though nothing has been confirmed, these details are more than likely to be true. Granted this information is correct, this means that there is still a major online Wii title out there that will not be supporting friend codes.
