More Monster Hunter G, Monster Hunter 3 details

Some new information regarding Monster Hunter G and Monster Hunter 3 has been transcribed from Famitsu.
MHG
– Cover is showing a hunter wearing Rathalos armor using Babel facing Azure Rathalos.
– Its basically a 100% port with no new content
– Wide screen support
– Support Classic Controller only (GC ?) and able to pick between traditional PS2 controls or PSP controls
– 6 Weapons: Big Sword, Small Sword & Shield, Lance, Hammer, Dual Sword and Light/Heavy bowguns
– Single and Network mode (Unknown if its pay-to-play)
– Includes features found in newer MH like sending items straight to item box (this is not included in MHG)
– 77% complete
– Spring release
MH3 Tri
– New area: Desert
? Will have areas/caves that are inaccessible to sunlight.
? Swordfish like monsters that attack in groups
? Huge ants (seen in TGS video)
– New monster: Volvolos
? Lives in the desert
? Will submerge in mud to protect from the intense heat (similar to Basarios/Gravios)
? Breathe by sticking its nose above the mud
? Will attack hunters that get close to it by a upward head thrust
? Able to shake harden mud from body to attack players
? Hunters get caught by the harden mud will be cover in mud. They are unable to attack and movement speed will be greatly decrease
? When angry, it will use its ‘bind voice’ ability which will result in hunters covering their ears
– Rathian
? New spitting fire move that will have a big area effect
? New move by using its talons to trap a hunter and bite them
? When stamina decreases, it will fall down during charge or there will be no fire when it is spitting
– Ragiakurusu
? Have different movement on land/sea
? Electric attack will stun players
? Will rest underwater to regenerate health
– Once underwater gauge runs up, health will decrease. Regenerate by getting above water or air bubbles.
– New feature: Action Point, basically its just a shortcut to mining, catching bugs etc by pressing A

New WiiWare game allows player to control toaster

“This is a side-scrolling action game in which players control a cartoon toaster as it traverses through colorful environments. Environments are filled with whimsical enemies such as aggressive fruit and vegetable creatures. Players can shoot pastries at enemies and must avoid getting hit by projectiles (e.g., bamboo spears, “durians,” and wooden poles) to advance.” – ESRB description
Dangerous fruit and vegetable creatures? Count me in!
Nintendo to distribute video content on Wii

Nintendo has announced that they will begin to distribute video content on the Wii in the coming months. The company is partnering with ad agency Dentsu Inc to provide users with cartoons and other unspecified programs. The service will begin in Japan early next year. There are plans to bring the video content distribution overseas later in 2009. More specific content that will up for distribution is expected to be revealed in the future.

Monster Hunter 3 is still in development and has yet to be released, but that isn’t stopping the announcement of another Monster Hunter title that will end up on Wii. According to the latest edition of Famitsu, Monster Hunter G will be heading to the Wii. The game originally was released on the PS2 and then moved to the PSP for a European and North American release. Monster Hunter G marks the second time a game in the series will launch on a Nintendo platform. We’ll have more news as it becomes available.
Capcom has some tricks up their sleeves for Wii owners in 2009

I wonder how many Wii titles we’ll see from Capcom in 2009. More ports might be realistic, but perhaps the company has moved on to original titles. Anyone want to take a guess?
