Tecmo: Rygar in development, blame Nintendo for no Fatal Frame at E3
Posted on 16 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 0 comments
Rygar for Wii seemed to disappear off the map a few months ago; As such, people began to doubt whether or not the game was canned. A Tecno representative has commented on the situation, however, and confirmed that in spite of no news, the game is still in development. The same PR represnetative additionally commented on the lack of Fatal Frame 4 at E3, noting that it was up to Nintendo to show off the title. “Several of you asked about Tecmo’s other titles that have been announced in Japan which were not on display at the show. Fatal Frame 4 (Wii) will be published by Nintendo, so please contact your Nintendo PR contact for further information.”

Reggie: We are considering storage solutions
Posted on 16 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 0 comments
“We have said publicly that we’re looking hard at the storage situation, that we’re working on a range of solutions. We have nothing to announce now. But certainly it’s an issue we are aware of and we’re working to find a solution and we will.” – Reggie Fils-Aime
I don’t know about you guys, but by flash memory has maxed out. Numerous Nintendo representatives, including Cammie Dunaway, have made disheartening comments that the Wii should be like a virtual fridge, but I just don’t understand how that is a manageable solution. An HDD would definitely fix this situation, but opening up the SD slot directly would help as well.
Igarashi expected negative reactions to Castlevania Judgement

“When you have a franchise like this, that’s become popular in a certain type of game style and you change that so drastically, I understand the responses is going to be negative. I also felt a lot of the response was, I guess, unjustified in the sense that they based their [response] on just hearing about it or maybe seeing a couple of screen shots and making a whole assumption.” – Koji Igarashi
Mr. Igarashi has created some brilliant projects throughout his career, but after seeing some previews coming out of E3, I’m not too encouraged about his latest game, Castlevania Judgement. Igarashi has stated numerous times that he felt that Castlevania on the Wii in any other way would result in fatigue because of constant Wii remote movements; Although, turning the franchise into a fighting game – if you ask me – isn’t the best way to go about things.

Coming from the North American Wii updates page….
Photo Channel 1.1-a
An update was made available for the Wii console which provides behind-the-scenes support for a new service that has been released only in Japan.
Based on the backstory behind the new Japanese channel, there weren’t many expectations that it would be heading stateside, but this is a pretty good hint that it will be.
