Zelda: Skyward Sword’s Siren Realm sees a small name change
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 0 comments
While it’s not the biggest update in the world, we do have a small piece of news on Zelda: Skyward Sword. The game’s Siren Realm has a new name. An editor who worked on the Game Informer article for the magazine’s upcoming issue has said that the world is now called the Silent Realm.
We first heard about the Silent Realm a few months ago when the title made its second appearance at E3. During these sections, Link will not be able to use his sword. Guardians will chase the hero and are capable of taking him out with just one hit. Players will need to collect tear drops in order to leave the area.
The Siren Realm is probably best described as a mix of Twilight Princess’ tears of light quests and Phantom Hourglass’ Phantoms that are found in the Temple of the Ocean King.
Dragon Quest X has been in development for six years

There’s no question that Dragon Quest X has been in the works for several years. Square Enix announced the title back in 2008, but development must have started before then.
As it turns out, Square Enix has been making the game for much longer than originally thought. According to an ex-Square Enix employee, its development has already passed the six year mark.
Thanks to Thomas N for the tip!

Guess who’s on the cover of this month’s Game Informer?
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 0 comments
This is actually a pretty big deal! It isn’t often that a Nintendo game is the cover story in a Game Informer issue.
Here’s a rundown of what’s inside:
This year marks the 25th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, one of the most memorable and beloved series in all of gaming. To celebrate the occasion, we’ve devoted 24 pages of our October issue to honoring Zelda’s past and looking forward to its future.
Beginning with a look back, we have a 14-page run-down of every major Zelda release up to this point. We’ve split this retrospective into a series of personal essays explaining why each of these legendary games mattered to us. After this history lesson, you can dig in to a 10-page exclusive hands-on with Skyward Sword, Nintendo’s upcoming Wii swan song. We spent six hours playing portions of the game that have never been seen such as the mysterious Silent Realm, experienced brand new gameplay mechanics including flying and dowsing, and spoke with long-time series creator Eiji Aonuma about how Zelda is evolving for the future. All of this info and more awaits in the new issue, and we’ll have a whole month of online coverage to back it up, including exclusive videos of Skyward Sword and a ton of fun features paying homage to 25 years of Zelda adventures.
