Wii

This information comes from Reggie Fils-Aime…

“The Wii has a long life in front of it. We’re still sitting at $199. There are a variety of marketing tools at our disposal.”

I’m not too sure that the quote above indicates that we’ll be seeing a Wii price drop soon, but I think Nintendo will be forced to make some sort of move. The console is lacking major software in the first half of the year, and we’ve seen that sales have been down the past few months.

This information comes from High Voltage Art Director Matt Corso, who was asked if the Wii could be pushed further in terms of graphics…

“Yes. It definitely can, but you need a lot of experience with the hardware. I would say that Conduit 2, in many ways, is not really achieving the system’s full potential. Every time we do a game on Wii, we find little advancements we can make with the hardware that we didn’t know we could do with the last game.”

In addition to the above, Corso said that a third Conduit game “would look even better and play even better.” Corso doesn’t think the Wii is on its way out, either. He said, “The Wii isn’t done yet, there’s still a lot more to achieve.”
