Iwata on the Asahi confusion…

Iwata says the question was: “The next DS will need to have high resolution graphics and include a motion sensor, wouldn’t you say?”

And his response was…“Those are naturally considered requirements. However, do you believe it will sell with just this?”

Iwata on Wii HD…

“If asked if making the Wii compatible with high definition — just making it compatible with high resolution — will get players throughout the world to buy it, I would of course say, ‘Do you think it would sell with just that? Let’s put something new in it.”

Iwata on future hardware…

“If there were no rival makers in the world, I’d could give examples of the things that we are considering. However, for competitive reasons, I cannot give specifics today on the what or when of the things we’re considering.”

GET READY TO KICK YOUR TWANG UP TO 11 AS ROCK BAND ADDS MORE COUNTRY HITS!

These artists are among the more than 390 bands currently available through the Rock Band platform. With more than 1,000 songs available, Rock Band is, without question, the industry leader in providing the best selection of interactive musical content, songs and artists.

The last decade saw a number of changes, not just for Nintendo, but for the gaming industry as a whole. As systems became more powerful we were introduced to new games, as well as new ways to play games. We were forced to say goodbye to some of our favorite developers and series, but we still discovered new ones, and even some old ones that had been forgotten over time. As time progressed from the year 2000 to 2009, gaming also progressed, changing from a fairly niche pastime to a culture that gained some degree of mainstream recognition. These are the 10 games for Nintendo systems that I feel best represent gaming over the last 10 years.

After having developed just one title, Deep Silver Vienna has been shut down by Koch Media. The company cited poor sales of Cursed Mountain for the studio’s closure and noted that “this decision is not easy for us.” Rumor has it that co-founder and executive producer Hannes Seifert has found a new home at Square Enix Europe. But it is a shame that Deep Silver Vienna has been closed, especially after the promise that Cursed Mountain showed for the development team’s future.
