I don’t know how much Nintendo news Konami will offer at their “pre-E3” show tonight. I imagine Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 3D will be there in some form, and possibly this new Frogger title and other games. Regardless of how many Nintendo-related titles are shown, though, I have a feeling that you guys will want to tune into the live stream.

Those of you who were fortunate enough to watch Konami’s E3 2010 presser are aware of how downright amusing it was. It didn’t seem as though they had planned anything intentionally, but one speaker after another provided memorable quotes that are still used to this day. Even though I don’t see how Konami can possibly top their conference from last year, at least Tak Fujii will be there!

So stay tuned for the amazing (hopefully) show, and keep checking back on the site for any Nintendo news from the conference.

Keeping this on the front page for the next few days. It’s pretty darn important, so I hope you guys have read about our exciting plans. And again, any input you have in terms of what coverage you’d like to see is 100% welcome.

I should also mention that news will be slow until Monday, as most companies are tight-lipped at this point with news and announcements. We may get some goodies on Thursday, though, thanks to Konami’s pre-E3 event.

E3 2011 is set to be one of the most significant years for Nintendo in recent memory. And it’s also going to be one of the biggest years for Nintendo Everything (and our sister site!). That’s because for the first time ever, we’re going to E3!

Let me explain things a bit. I personally won’t be attending the trade show, but Austin will be along with a few other folks representing the sites. One day I’ll make it out to California… but it’s just not happening this year. Although, staying here might be for the best, since I’ll be able to provide you all with constant coverage throughout E3 week, just like last year.

Now I’m going to let Austin chime in with a few points about what you can expect next week…

If you watched the latest episode of ‘That One Show’, you know that our new friends at Rocketfish gaming accessories have offered to give all you cool cats some free stuff, so I said I’d do it, but only if I could challenge all of you to a test first. After much coercion, they agreed that I could test you, as long as it didn’t permanently damage you in any way.

Despite my disappointment at the above prerequisite for my plan, I decided I’d just put your Nintendo knowledge on the stand with a little question. All you gotta do is answer it either in the comments, via YouTube, via e-mail, Facebook, Twitter, etc (as long as I see it), and then if you get it right, you’ll be put in a random selection to win one of these:

We have a total of five to give away, but I’m only giving away two this week. Here’s your question:

Nintendo is soon to release a line of “Nintendo Select” titles for the Wii that will offer some of the best titles on the system, including Twilight Princess and WarioWare, for just $20. Before the Wii, what did Nintendo call it when they rereleased games at lower prices, such as The Legend Of Zelda Four Swords Adventure on Gamecube? For bonus points, name the first game system to ever use this idea of rereleasing games.

If you win, we’ll e-mail you. The only rule I can think of is that you (unfortunately) have to live inside the United States to receive one. Sorry, international crowd! We love and respect you, but shipping costs are ridiiiiculous.

As we mentioned last week, Nintendo will be holding an investor’s meeting at 3 AM EDT. That’s just a few hours from now. I suppose you could say this is “part 2” of the company’s conferences for the week since Satoru Iwata already delivered a presentation yesterday.

I haven’t decided if I’ll stay up to cover the event, although I’m not sure there will be a ton of news in any case. After all, Nintendo already confirmed that they are working on Project Cafe and won’t share any additional information until E3. Then again, a few nuggets could slip out…

In any case, if you happen to be up around that time, stop by the site. There might not be any news right away, or information may not be available until the conference is finished… or there might not be anything significant to report on at all. If I find anything interesting, I’ll be sure to update NE immediately. Stay tuned!

Hey folks, Austin here with a quick update regarding our contest we’ve been running that allows you to win some awesome free crap:

Something went wrong with Facebook, and despite the fact that many of you are mentioning us in your profiles, I cannot see your lovely, kind words. As it is, I’ve no choice but to make the contest even easier to enter for you Facebookers. If you wanna win some really cool stuff (see original post for details), then just become a fan of us on our Facebook page and post something nice about us on our wall. Or mean about us, I honestly don’t care either way.

Just don’t make it stupid and say “I like turtles” or something. You all are much too creative for that.

A note to the people who entered via Twitter: You’re all fine. We can see your mentions!

Thanks!

~Austin

The way I figure, not everyone here was able to get a 3DS right on launch day, and I’m sure those of you who didn’t have your reasons. If you’re still on the fence about whether or not to buy the system, and you have some questions about how good something is or how bad it is, or whether the system does something you want it to do, I’d love for you to ask those questions in the comments section of this post!

I’m putting up ‘That One Show – Episode 9’ tonight, and I’d love to answer any questions for you along with footage of me doing it/showing you it as proof. Now, I don’t have any games yet, but if you have any questions about the system itself, I think I’ve done enough rummaging around in the depths of the menu/pack-in games to answer them!

If you have any non-3DS questions for me, feel free to ask them as well!

Nintendo’s Satoru Iwata will take the stage at GDC in less than an hour. At the moment, no one can say if anything will be announced, but the keynote should be entertaining nonetheless. We’ll cover any important news (if there is any) as it happens, and you can also watch a live stream here. Will we see a new Skyword Sword trailer? Any new game announcements? We’ll find out at 12 PM EST!

So… there’s a pretty important event tomorrow. At 12 PM EST (9 AM PST), Satoru Iwata will deliver a keynote at the Game Developers Conference. Iwata last made an appearance in 2009, when he brought goodies such as an announcement for The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Some people are naturally speculating that we’ll see a new Skyward Sword or Ocarina of Time 3D trailer based on Zelda’s previous appearances at GDC…

I’m not quite sure what to expect given the fact that GDC is arguably less announcement-heavy than in the past, though I think we’ll see a couple of interesting things! Just keep expectations low… that’s always the best policy! Remember, this isn’t anything like E3.

In any case, Nintendo feels that this event is important enough for a live stream. You can access it right here. I’ll have another update before Iwata’s keynote begins tomorrow, but I you might want to start checking in on the site starting at 11:30 AM EST.

You know what I wish grew on trees? Money! If it did, it would solve quite a few problems… We’ve tried out a few advertising options for the site which, so far, haven’t been as successful as I had hoped. We still are giving up on things just yet, though.

In the future, you may see a different background on the site relating to gamer’s interests. It could be for an upcoming title, or something else completely. But the basic idea is that the background may change for a few days, and then it’ll return to its original form. It doesn’t seem like a huge deal, or something that will be annoying or intrusive. Granted it turns out to be something we don’t find advantageous to the benefit of the site or our readers, it will be removed immediately.

Just want to make sure I keep everyone informed!

The big day is finally here! In just a few hours, we should know when the 3DS is coming out in North America and Europe, and how much the system will cost. We’ve also heard that there might be a surprise at the event. Remember, you can watch a live stream from Amsterdam here. For North American news, keep checking back on the site. The event will begin in about 40 minutes.
