Paul Rudd Switch 2 commercial

April 19: Nintendo just posted a new 90-second commercial with celebrity Paul Rudd, who has been brought in to help promote Switch 2.

In a way, this is a full circle moment for both sides. Rudd was actually in a commercial for the SNES way back in 1991, which was well before he became the popular actor that he is today.

Hot Rod Mayhem, which dropped on Nintendo Switch this week, has gone live with a new launch trailer. The new chaos-fueled arcade racer comes from Casual Brothers.

Monument Valley trailer

Ustwo Games issued a launch trailer for the first two games in the Monument Valley series. This week, the puzzle titles dropped on Nintendo Switch.

Phantom Breaker Battle Grounds Ultimate trailer

Rocket Panda Games has come through with a new trailer for Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate, which just launched on Nintendo Switch. The 2D side-scrolling action game originally launched on Xbox 360 has received a new version with significant enhancements, including enhanced graphics, and improved frame rate, higher resolutions, and new characters, with the inclusion of enemies as playable characters in Arcade Mode, as well as a full soundtrack remaster.

Mario Kart World Direct live stream

The Mario Kart World Direct is almost here, and for those looking to tune in, we’ve got a dedicated post for the live stream. Look for the broadcast to kick off at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET / 2 PM in the UK / 3 PM in Europe. The event will be about 15 minutes long.

We were given a pretty good look at the game during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct and Treehouse: Live just a couple of weeks ago, but Nintendo clearly has more to say. If there’s anything significant, we’ll pass it along on the main site. Nintendo should also provide us with an official recap announcement after the event which we’ll share as well.

Starlight Legacy release date

Starlight Legacy was given its Nintendo Switch release date today, and it turns out we won’t have to wait long to see it. Eastasiasoft and Decafesoft will launch the title on May 28, 2025.

The retro pixel art JRPG was originally confirmed for Nintendo Switch back in September.

Arcade Archives Tatakae Big Fighter

For its latest release in the Arcade Archives series, Hamster has announced Tatakae Big Fighter. A worldwide launch is happening tomorrow, April 17.

Tatakae Big Fighter, which first debuted in 1989, comes from Nichibutsu. Also known as Sky Robo, it’s a shoot ’em up game and a spin-off of the Terra Cresta series.

Spellcaster University release date

Today, Red Art Games provided the release date for Spellcaster University. The title launches for Nintendo Switch on May 2, 2025.

Made by Sneaky Yak Studio, Spellcaster University was confirmed for Nintendo Switch launch back in 2023. It was originally planned for early 2024, but a delay occurred.
