E3 2007 was heavily lacking in new announcements. It was quite the downturn compared to E3 2006 – a show that impressed many.

One of Nintendo’s first announcements was the Wii Zapper. A few third-party games were promoted with the peripheral, including Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. Nintendo also teased a game of its own (Link’s Crossbow Training), that would be packed in with the Zapper.

Later in the show, Nintendo announced a release date for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but the game would eventually be delayed. Mario Kart Wii was also revealed, along with the Wii Wheel that would be bundled with the accessory.

Nintendo highlighted a few core titles during the conference: Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and Super Mario Galaxy.

Nintendo closed things out with Wii Fit. It’s Wii Fit – not much else to say! But we did get Reggie’s famous “My body is ready” quote from his on-stage antics, at least.

Not too exciting. But if you thought this was disappointing, wait until we look back on the 2008 media briefing…

Lady Hunk and Rachel Ooze are coming to Resident Evil: Revelations HD on June 11 as DLC. Both will be playable in Raid Mode.

E3 2006 was the full-blown reveal for Wii, so Nintendo’s conference was jam-packed with all sorts of games.

Where to begin? For starters, Shigeru Miyamoto came out on stage and conducted a Zelda tune with his Wiimote and a Wii Music backdrop. He then did a little dance as Excite Truck and Red Steel were introduced in video form.

Zelda: Twilight Princess was confirmed and demoed for Wii, though Nintendo remained committed to bring it to GameCube as well.

Other titles highlighted during the media briefing include Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Project H.A.M.M.E.R. (cancelled), and Disaster: Day of Crisis (never released in North America).

SEGA brought along its Sonic game that would become Sonic and the Secret Rings. Square Enix gave a glimpse at Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers for Wii, but it would end up being something completely different.

Nintendo closed out the proceedings with a Wii Sports demonstration with Miyamoto, Satoru Iwata, Bill Trinen, and a contest winner. Fun was had by all!
