Wii U eShop

Nintendo originally shot down the idea of the original Binding of Isaac on the 3DS due to “questionable religious content”. But now the game is getting a remake, and creator Ed McMillen/new partner Nicalis “have a feeling the new look might soften up a few people at Nintendo for a possible Wii U/3DS eShop release.”

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth will feature a second planned expansion not included in the Flash version, local co-op, and full 16-bit graphics. With the new visual style and the fact that Nicalis is on board, I’d say this project has a pretty decent shot at a Wii U and/or 3DS release.

Mutant Mudds Deluxe, the beefed-up version of the original Mutant Mudds, will be available on the Wii U eShop in Q1 2013. This is actually the most-specific release window given by Renegade Kid thus far.

The studio is keeping quiet on most of the game’s details, but we do know one thing for sure, thanks to co-founder Jools Watsham. On Twitter, Watsham said Deluxe will have its own “unique content”.

Cloudberry Kingdom developer Pwnee Studios originally hoped to have the team’s game out for the Wii U’s launch. That didn’t happen, and it won’t be out within the next few days either.

When asked if Cloudberry Kingdom would launch this month, the studio said:

”Unfortunately it is not. Looks like we’re going to delay for a bit and go for a simultaneous launch across multiple platforms.”

Pwnee Studios hasn’t shared a new release window. Surely it’ll be hitting the Wii U eShop before the end of the year… right?!

We have a slightly better idea as to when the ZombiU demo will be available. One of the game’s developer has confirmed that the download will be hitting the Wii U eShop before December 15.

Let’s hope the Rayman Legends demo will also be out by then…

There are no plans at the moment to bring Braid to the 3DS eShop. But Wii U? That’s a slightly different story.

Although main designer Jonathan Blow says “we are really busy right now”, he has left the door slightly open for a possible Wii U eShop version sometime down the line.

Blow tweeted:

“Braid: 3DS, no. Wii U, maybe sometime in the future but we are really busy right now.”

I’ve counted no less than 30 games releasing alongside the Wii U in North America tomorrow (or today, depending on when this goes live). So let’s not waste any time going over all the games you might be playing if you’re not waiting two more weeks for the console to come out like I am…

Rayman Legends isn’t the only Ubisoft Wii U game to be receiving a demo on the eShop. According to one of the game’s developers, a demo for ZombiU will be on the store as well.

It’s currently unknown when a demo will be made available. Sooner rather than later, hopefully.
