Wii U demos have play limits
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 0 comments

As is the case with the 3DS, Wii U demos have play limits.
FIFA 13, the first game to ever receive a demo on the Wii U store, can only be accessed ten times. Once this limit has been reached, the trial won’t launch.
Play locks will likely vary between demos. On the 3DS, we’ve seen downloads that maintain a limit as few as five and as high as thirty. There’s even been one instance in which unlimited plays have been offered.
EA’s FIFA 13 demo is only available on the European eShop at the moment. A Rayman Legends demo should be on the way to the North American and European Wii U stores in the near future.
WayForward willing to make more content for Mighty Switch Force! Hyper Edition
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 0 comments
Following the release of Mighty Switch Force! on the 3DS eShop, WayForward created a free update that brought along five new levels and other small changes. Could something similar happen with its console brother, Mighty Switch Force! Hyper Edition?
When asked about the possibility, Voldi Way said:
“You know it’s hard to say just yet. I mean we don’t have any plans, I should say that. Then again, we didn’t have any plans to add new levels for the first one. If it does well and people like it then yeah we’ll keep adding stuff.”
And WayForward level designer Chris Schroder added:
“We can keep on adding levels if you guys want.”

Uplay app now live on Wii U
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U, Wii U eShop | 0 comments
Wii U owners can now grab Ubisoft’s Uplay app from the eShop. It’s only a 43MB program, so it shouldn’t take long to download and install.
If you can’t locate the app on the eShop, search for “Uplay” and it should pop up in the results.

Frozenbyte has revealed plans to update Trine 2: Director’s Cut next month. When the patch is made available, players will be able to chat with each other online. The only caveat is that you’ll need a headset with a separate mic to take advantage of the functionality.
Thanks to Jake for the tip.
The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth could come to Wii U, 3DS eShops
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, News, Wii U eShop | 0 comments
Nintendo originally shot down the idea of the original Binding of Isaac on the 3DS due to “questionable religious content”. But now the game is getting a remake, and creator Ed McMillen/new partner Nicalis “have a feeling the new look might soften up a few people at Nintendo for a possible Wii U/3DS eShop release.”
The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth will feature a second planned expansion not included in the Flash version, local co-op, and full 16-bit graphics. With the new visual style and the fact that Nicalis is on board, I’d say this project has a pretty decent shot at a Wii U and/or 3DS release.
Mutant Mudds Deluxe coming Q1 2013, will have new content

Mutant Mudds Deluxe, the beefed-up version of the original Mutant Mudds, will be available on the Wii U eShop in Q1 2013. This is actually the most-specific release window given by Renegade Kid thus far.
The studio is keeping quiet on most of the game’s details, but we do know one thing for sure, thanks to co-founder Jools Watsham. On Twitter, Watsham said Deluxe will have its own “unique content”.
Cloudberry Kingdom not launching this month
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 0 comments
Cloudberry Kingdom developer Pwnee Studios originally hoped to have the team’s game out for the Wii U’s launch. That didn’t happen, and it won’t be out within the next few days either.
When asked if Cloudberry Kingdom would launch this month, the studio said:
”Unfortunately it is not. Looks like we’re going to delay for a bit and go for a simultaneous launch across multiple platforms.”
Pwnee Studios hasn’t shared a new release window. Surely it’ll be hitting the Wii U eShop before the end of the year… right?!
