“There are several sub-quests in The Last Story from small ones to big ones with dungeons. Events and NPC which are the quests entrances are located at some specified sections which comes with scenario/story. It’s possible to advance without clearing these quests, though.” – Sakaguchi

“Sakaguchi then proceeded to mention the game’s dungeons and how the dungeons are connected. “Almost all dungeon maps in the castle and city are connected. For example, a hidden stairs in the castle’s courtyard. Other places are connected without ‘road’. I emphasized ‘tempo/rhythm (of game playing)’.” – Sakaguchi

– No mounts in the game like Chocobos in Final Fantasy
– Instantly move to a different location via the map
– Sakaguchi has hinted you can ride creatures, but not for transportation
– When revisiting dungeons: Minimum dialogue, select members when you enter, unique treasure chests, different balance/adjustments, no leveling up, items/money loot, leave whenever you want

“It’s important that you be able to supply software with no pause. With the DS and Wii, following the titles that were released at launch, the momentum dropped when there was a gap in software releases. We’re making plans so that this type of thing won’t happen.” – Satoru Iwata

– Iwata believes he hasn’t said anything special about 3D warnings for the 3DS
– Similar warnings are on 3D TV instruction manuals
– Nintendo thinks kids could end up playing video game for lengthy periods
– As a result, Nintendo wants to adequately convey the message before people make their purchase
– Iwata believes developing countries will become important in the future as their economies grow
– Iwata not sure when Nintendo can satisfy the demand for 3DS in North America, Japan, and Europe, so he can’t say when the 3DS could be made available in other territories
– Over 2 million units sold in the holiday season (North America)
– Wii crossed the 7 million mark in early sales
– DS sales similar to 2009
– Wii/DS hit expectations in Europe

I’ve always been a fan of Gaijin Games’ Bit.Trip series, so when I heard last year that a fourth one was coming out that would combine the series’ retro feel with my favorite genre in gaming (platforming) as an homage to Pitfall, I was ecstatic. Unfortunately, I didn’t get around to buying it until just this past week, but it was definitely worth the wait. Bit.Trip Runner takes great accessibility, beautiful new graphics, old school difficulty, and the same dynamic rhythmic gameplay the Bit.Trip series is known for and combines it into one of the best WiiWare releases to date.
