Doom + Doom 2 getting new Nintendo Switch physical release

Limited Run Games today announced a brand new physical release for Doom + Doom 2 on Nintendo Switch.

New versions of the classic shooters were released digitally on the console last year. This is what Limited Run Games’ latest boxed editions are based on.

The company is planning a standard copy and a Big Box Edition. With the latter, you’ll be getting a two-piece deluxe box, 15 trading cards, and cassettes of the base game OST and IDKFA. There’s also a “Will It Run” Edition that includes a box that plays Doom.

Developed by id Software, and originally released in 1993, DOOM pioneered and popularized the first-person shooter, setting a standard for all FPS games. The critically acclaimed sequel, DOOM II, followed in 1994. Now the definitive, newly enhanced versions of DOOM + DOOM II are available as a combined product.
