Goonya Monster update out now (version 2.0.0), patch notes

Goonya Monster update 2.0.0

Goonya Monster just received its latest update, with the game moving up to version 2.0.0.

New features have been introduced such as a stamp board function. Additionally, it comes with a bunch of improvements and balance adjustments.

The full patch notes for the Goonya Monster version 2.0.0 update are as follows:

◆ Common Changes

  • Adjustments have been made to reduce traction on the block and make it easier to move.
  • Both Busters and Monsters have been changed so that they can see each other’s name tags. (Visible even through walls)
  • More items were added to score actions during battles, and changes were made so that EXP, Soul Coins, and Soul Gems could be earned in points accordingly.

◆ Monster

  • Changed to power-up based on the number of times a Buster is preyed upon and killed.
    • Powering up makes the Monster’s body progressively bigger, and its punches and other judgments become larger, making it easier to destroy blocks and prey on them.
  • The conditions for predation have been changed so that predation occurs when the Buster’s HP is reduced to a certain degree and a punch is applied.
  • Changed to blow the Buster farther away immediately after killing the Buster with predation.
  • Changed to prevent Monsters from being mocked by Buster’s kicks and punches and obstacles on the stage.
  • The double jump that was possible using walls has been changed to allow triple jumps.

◆ Buster

  • Changed when Buster is ghost state, they can be automatically revived over time.
    • However, the time required for automatic revival increases according to the number of times the ghost state has been ghost state.
  • Changed to when in a ghost state, other Buster can be revived simply by contacting the Buster.
  • Changed it so that you can resurrect from a ghost state when you rescue a Buster who is being preyed upon with a ghost attack.
  • Changed ghost attacks and kicks are slightly homing against Monsters.
    • When the kick hits the Monster, Monster and Buster behave as if they are bouncing off each other.
  • An alert function has been added whereby the screen frame turns red when a Monster is near itself.

◆ New features

  • A free daily gacha has been added as a login bonus.
  • A stamp board function has been added, where stamps are accumulated according to battle results, coins and gems can be earned and stories can be released.
  • Upon opening the custom screen for the first time after the update, the following weapons will be unlocked and available for use. (If you already possess them, they will be converted to Soul Coins)

◆ Gameplay Rebalance

【Rewards】

  • More items were added to score actions during battles, and changes were made so that EXP, Soul Coins, and Soul Gems could be earned in points accordingly.

【Battle Balance】

  • Adjustments have been made to reduce traction on the block and make it easier to move.
  • Soul’s contact detection has been increased.
  • Both Busters and Monsters have been changed so that they can see each other’s name tags.

▼ Buster

  • Changed when Buster is ghost state, they can be automatically revived over time.
    • However, the time required for automatic revival increases according to the number of times the ghost state has been ghost state.
  • Changed to when in a ghost state, other Buster can be revived simply by contacting the Buster.
  • Changed it so that you can resurrect from a ghost state when you rescue a Buster who is being preyed upon with a ghost attack.
  • Changed ghost attacks and kicks are slightly homing against Monsters.
    • When the kick hits the Monster, Monster and Buster behave as if they are bouncing off each other.
    • Reduced stuck time after ghost attacks.
    • An alert function has been added whereby the screen frame turns red when a Monster is near itself.
    • The long press and hold recovery guard button has been removed and changed so that putting souls into the soul pot can recover all HP.
    • When approaching the undead, they are now automatically locked on when shot with Weapons. (Excluding some Weapons)
    • Adjusted to make it easier to get up when tripping over obstacles.
    • The cool time between defeating undead and the appearance of the soul has been removed.
    • Changed so that when a Monster’s predation is cancelled, it becomes invincible for a certain period of time.
    • UI additions have been made to make it easier to locate souls and undead.
    • Adjusted the initial position of the Buster in all stages.

▼ Monster

  • Changed to power-up based on the number of times a Buster is preyed upon and killed.
    • Powering up makes the Monster’s body progressively bigger, and its punches and other judgments become larger, making it easier to destroy blocks and prey on them.
  • The conditions for predation have been changed so that predation occurs when the Buster’s HP is reduced to a certain degree and a punch is applied.
  • Changed to blow the buster farther away immediately after killing the Buster with predation.
  • Changed to prevent Monsters from being mocked by Buster’s kicks and punches and obstacles on the stage.
  • The double jump that was possible using walls has been changed to allow triple jumps.
  • Monster appearance locations fixed around soul pots.
  • Changed the Monster cannot move for the first three seconds after the battle starts.
  • The behaviour of punches alternating left and right has been changed.
  • Adjusted to make it easier for punches to hit.
  • Changed the inertia during movement is not lost during punches and kicks.
  • Changed so that when an undead predator is preyed upon, the predation is automatically cancelled after a few seconds.
  • Heavier action during predation.

▼ Skills

● Kigurumee

  • Changed “One-Shot Predation” is also performed when a punch released while activating a skill hits a Buster.

● Minotaur

  • Reduced skill damage.
  • Adjustments to skill easier to hit Busters.
  • Changed the rush stops when the skill hits the Buster.
  • Changed when a skill hits a Buster, Buster is flown upwards while spinning.
  • Reduced trapping on blocks during skill activation.

● Oculus

  • Changed to becomes invincible while activating a skill.
  • Skills adjusted to make it harder to hit obstacles.
  • A weak lock-on element has been added to the skill.

● Pumpkin

  • A weak lock-on element has been added to the skill.
  • The skill penetrates the block and explodes when it hits the ground.
    • Touchable destructible blocks are destroyed and indestructible objects are penetrated but remain intact.

● Death

  • The skill has been changed from a specification that generates a circle range in front of itself to a specification that sets up a circle around itself.
  • Extended skill range.

● Voodoo Doll

  • After activating a skill, the skill gauge is reduced even when the beam is not being fired.
  • The skill has been changed from manually firing the beam to automatically firing the beam when the Buster is within range once activated.
    • If Voodoo Doll is out of range, only an effect will appear around the Voodoo Doll’s body.
  • Shortened range of skills.

● Mythical Dragon
・The skill has been changed from manually firing a flaming breath to a bullet-based system that fires three flaming breaths.
・Reduced damage to the main body of the flame breath.
・Burn damage caused by skills can now be guarded against.
・The duration of burns caused by skills has been extended to around 15 seconds.
● Baby-Face
・Increased movement speed while activating skills.
● Balloon
・The skill has been changed from a manual throw specification to one that automatically drops a bomb at your feet after activation.
-The ability to move freely in the air after activation is retained.

▼ Weapons

 

  • Added “Aim Assist” to the “Shooter” series, making it easier to hit.
  • Adjusted the “Candy Shooter”‘s “power” slightly higher and “movement speed during shots” slightly slower.
  • Increased the “power” of the “Bandead Shooter” and made “movement speed during shots” slower.
  • Added “Aim Assist” to the “Pistol” series, making it easier to hit.
  • Extended the “range” of the “Pistol” series.
  • Slightly extended the “range” and slightly increased the “power” of the “Tiger Attack”.
    • The “knockback” is slightly larger and the “cool time” is slightly longer.
  • Extended the “range” and increased the “power” of the “Purple Line”.
    • The “knockback” is larger and the “cool time” is longer.
  • Shortened the “range” and lowered the “power” of the “Monster Eyes” and “microSD 256GB Revision”, and made it to automatically continue shooting while holding down the button.
  • Reduced the “knockback” of the “Shotgun” series.
  • Removed the additional effect of “block destruction” from the “Shotgun” series.
  • Slightly increased the “power” of the “Honeycomb Compressor”.
  • Increased the “power” of the “Monster Fang”.
  • Lowered the “power” and shortened the “cool time” of the “Giraffe Charge”.
  • For the “Laser” series, we adjusted the thickness of the laser effect based on “power”.
    • The larger the “power”, the thicker the laser effect.
  • Slightly increased the “knockback” and “power” of the “Green Juice Laser”, and made the “action during shot” slightly heavier.
  • Increased the “knockback” and “power” of the “Blood Laser”, and made the “action during shot” impossible.
  • Added an effect to the “Blood Laser” that allows “block destruction” by continuously hitting the laser.
  • Shortened the “range” and lowered the “power” of the “Holstein Laser”, “Future Spectrum”, “DriverPro 20 Revision”, and “Cream Ramune Laser”.
  • Changed the “Machine Gun” series from charge type to a specification that fires a certain number of bullets while pressing the button.
    • The longer you press, the more bullets you fire, but there is a limit to the number of bullets in one shot.
  • Added the additional effect of “block destruction” to the “Machine Gun” series.
    • The “Bone Crusher” has slightly more “shot bullets” and the “action during shot” is slightly heavier.
    • The “cool time” is slightly longer.
  • The “Diamond Smasher” has many “shot bullets” and the “action during shot” is heavy.
    • The “cool time” is longer.
  • Slightly increased the “power” of the “Steampunk Bomb” and made the “knockback” slightly larger.
    • The “cool time” is slightly longer.
  • Changed the “Mine” series to a specification that automatically explodes if there is no contact for 2 seconds.
  • Changed the “Hammer” series to charge type.
    • The action during charging is heavy.
  • Changed the “Soul Hammer” to a specification that enlarges the “shot range” when fully charged.
  • Changed the “Cobra Shock” to a specification that “fires continuously” when fully charged.
  • Changed the “Monster Punch” to a specification that causes an “explosion” when fully charged.
  • Added “Aim Assist” to the “Arrow” series, making it easier to hit (excluding some arrows).
  • Changed the “Arrow” series to charge type.
    • The action during charging is not heavy.
  • Changed the “Soul Arrow” and “Arrow Neg” to a specification that “fires continuously” when fully charged.
  • Changed the “Hawk Eye” to a specification that increases the “power” when fully charged.
  • Lowered the “healing power” of the “Soul Healer”.

▼ Gear

  • Changed the number of Soul Gems required for the initial purchase of gear from 10 to 5.
  • Changed the Buster’s “Guard Recovery Amount Up” to “Soul in Max HP UP”.
  • Changed the effect of the Buster’s “Search Ability Up” from “the range where you can see the Undead’s HP bar is expanded” to “the range where you can see the Undead icon is expanded”.
  • Changed the Monster’s “Guard Recovery Amount Up” to “HP Auto Recovery”.
  • Changed the Monster’s “Search Ability Up” to “Undead’s HP UP”.

▼ Stages

  • Adjusted the “Oriental Temple” to make it easier to ride on the lotus.
  • Adjusted the “Oriental Temple” to make it harder to get caught on the lanterns.

◆ System

  • Refurbished the key configuration and made it possible to choose from three types of operation types.
  • Anemone, Slug, Orca, and Clione can now be selected in party play even if they are not owned.
  • Changed the stage switching time in Episode Match from 2 hours to 1 hour.
  • Reorganized the “Weapon” custom page to reduce the number of categories.
  • The “Mine” series has moved to the “Bomb” page, and the “Healer” series has moved to the “Other” page.

◆ Bug Fixes

  • Also fixed minor bugs.

All players on Switch can download the Goonya Monster version 2.0.0 update now.
