Posted on February 11, 2023 by (@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk, Switch

Following the February 2023 Nintendo Direct, we want your reactions and thoughts about the presentation.

A ton of games were shown in the event that was about 40 minutes along. From Nintendo itself, one of the major reveals was Metroid Prime Remastered, which immediately released. We also got new looks at Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Pikmin 4. On top of that, Game Boy and Game Boy Advance have joined Nintendo Switch Online. Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp will finally launch in April following previous delays.

From third-parties, one of the biggest surprises is that Level-5 is still around and kicking with multiple games in development for Switch including Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, and Decapolice. Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster, Samba de Amigo: Party Central, Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection, We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie, and an HD version of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective were some of the other reveals.

This wasn’t everything, but it’s a quick recap of some of the major points. We have a handy press release providing a lengthy rundown here.

So what’d you think of the February 2023 Nintendo Direct? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.

Highlight from last week’s topic: What are you playing? – February 2023

Kody Miles

been playing an English translation of Zoids Saga DS. I loved Saga II as a kid (the only game in the series to get translated into English as Zoids: Legacy) and this one has some neat improvements.

I’m still playing the same games as last month

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. I beat the game a few days ago, but I’m still going to do as many secondary things as I can. I really loved the game a lot more than on the Wii.

One Piece Unlimited World Red. I’m only playing it when I can’t use the TV. I didn’t remember the adventure part of the game to be this… short. Most of the game is about taking random quests an do them over and over on the same levels.

Fire Emblem echoes. Sometimes I really hate this game. How the hell can I miss so many times on the 80%-90%? How? The 70% is pretty much a bet.
But the enemies has a 46%? Of course they will not miss!

Locky Mavo

I’m currently in Japan snowboarding, but this just makes me want a new 1080 Snowboarding or SSX. A shame that Ubisoft game didn’t make it.

Vinicius

Put FE 3 Hopes on hold for a while. Started DQ Treasure , by far one of my favorite DQ spin-offs, and one of those games taht are perfect to just spend some time. The only thing bothering me is the lack of a run button.

Also playing Epistory that I got on the Qubic games sale. Fun game, but some of the combat segments feel a little to long. Also got Timothy and the Mysterious forest on the same sale, but haven’t started it yet.

Shmuel McConen

Switch-wise, we’re talking Fire Emblem and Octopath Traveler II which will probably be amazing. But, and hear me out on this: we need to get Hi-Fi Rush on the Switch somehow. I gave it a 9.5/10 in my review (Vgames on Metacritic), and it’s a serious GOTY contender.

Xbox and Nintendo are being buddy-buddies for the past several years, so I hope Tango will bring this amazing game to the console in some way shape or form.
