Minecraft animated show coming to Netflix

Microsoft and Netflix are teaming up on a new Minecraft animated show, the two sides announced today.

Little is known at the moment. Thus far, it’s only been said that the show will tell an “original story with new characters, showing the world of Minecraft in a new light.”

CG studio WildBrain, who has handled various shows such as Sonic Prime, will be in charge of producing the new Minecraft animated show for Netflix.

Today’s announcement comes as another way to celebrate Minecraft’s 15th anniversary. There’s been a free in-game museum map, sales on the series’ games, and more.
