New Xenoblade would “likely be something vastly different,” says series’ director
According to Xenoblade Chronicles director Tetsuya Takahashi, assuming we see another entry in the series, it “will likely be something vastly different from what came before.”
A message from Takahashi was included in the recently-released Xenoblade Chronicles 3 soundtrack release. Xenomira has since provided a translation.
Takahashi also said in his note that he “would like to make my next goal something that will betray everyone’s expectations, in a good way.”
The full translation reads:
Rather than playing on defense, going on the offense; change rather than maintain. This is a stance that I have continued to hold for thirty years. If there is another “Xenoblade,” it will likely be something vastly different from what came before. In style and in music, I would like to make my next goal something that will betray everyone’s expectations, in a good way.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 came to Switch last July. The game wrapped up its DLC and provided the final story arc with Future Redeemed, which launched this past April.
