Back in April, Nintendo confirmed a breach involving Nintendo Network IDs. At the time, the company reported that 160,000 accounts had been illegally accessed. A follow-up report was provided today, and it seems more IDs were involved than original expected.

According to Nintendo, 140,000 additional accounts may have been hacked. That brings the overall total to 300,000, though the company says that less than 1 percent of these led to fraudulent purchases.

Nintendo has reset the password of the 140,000 Nintendo Network IDs that have been impacted in addition to the Nintendo Accounts linked to them. Additional security measures are also being taken moving forward.

Nintendo is still in the process of providing refunds due to the incident. However, this has mostly been resolved for customers that were impacted.
