Spin the Bottle developer KnapNok Games has teamed up with Nifflas, the man behind NightSky, for a brand new Wii U title.

KnapNok’s Lau Krosgaard shared the news with NintendoWorldReport in a recent interview. Krosgaard was coy with regard to specific details, but did say:

“What we can say is that we are actually working together with a Swedish developer called Nifflas, who did NightSky for 3DS. He has been doing all of these amazing, moody platformers also just for PC. He is a brilliant game developer and he really wanted to make a game for the Wii U. He had this idea and so now we are working with him on realizing that basically. It is basically his game, so it is not a weird party game as we like to do and it is really a Nifflas game.”

Krosgaard also said the following when asked if the new game will be similar to that of NightSky:

“You will definitely like this one, but it is very early right now. We might be able to show screenshots in a few months towards the end of the year, but the launch might be in a year or something like that.”

How to Survive may be coming to Wii U. The USK (Germany’s ratings board) added a listing for a potential Wii U version to its database recently.

505 Games announced How to Survive for digital platforms a few months ago. It’s a brand new IP from developer EKO Studios.

Here’s the official overview:

Featuring a robust crafting system, unique survival guide and a host of playable characters, How to Survive strands players on a remote archipelago off the coast of Colombia in the aftermath of an unexplained accident … but you’re not alone. In order to survive, you must fulfill the most basic of needs – seeking out food, water and shelter, as well as crafting dozens of tools and weapons from fishing rods to Molotov cocktails. Players can also team up with other survivors in local and online multiplayer story and challenge modes to take on a growing array of the infected.

How to Survive will be released this fall. We’ll try to find out if this one really is in the works for Wii U.

Thanks to LetsPlayWiiU for the tip.

The ESRB has updated its rating icons in order to ensure that they’re “displaying as clearly and legibly as possible in the increasing variety of environments that they’re being displayed [in], including online and [on] mobile devices,” according to president Patricia Vance. This marks the first change for the icons in over ten years.
