Developers and publishers have, for the most part, been positive when speaking about Wii U. But one studio that won’t be working on the console is Just Add Water.
Just Add Water is responsible for PSN’s Gravity Crash and the recently released Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD.
When CEO Stewart Gilray was asked about the console, he said that he’s “currently” not interested in working with Nintendo or on the Wii U itself. Gilray believes that only Nintendo-published games succeed on the company’s platforms, and Nintendo has a “crazy regard to IP and refuse to sign NDAs with indie-developer/publishers”.
“Well, we’ve already announced versions of Stranger and Munch for the Vita, but with regards to Nintendo, currently I’m not interested in working with them, or on their platform. Having developed a number of titles over the years for their various platforms, it’s become increasingly apparent that unless you are published by Nintendo you don’t tend to do very well.
“They also have this crazy regard to IP and refuse to sign NDAs with indie-developer/publishers, leaving us small guys open to having our ideas stolen with no recourse. We have already looked at doing some stuff on iOS and all I can say is watch this space.”
Genius Sonority, the developer behind numerous Pokemon titles including Pokemon Colosseum, Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, and Battle & Get! Pokemon Typing DS, has announced a brand new title for the eShop. The company will be bringing “Denpa Ningen RPG” to the Japanese store next Wednesday. It’ll cost 800 yen.
Curious as to what Denpa Ningen RPG is all about? Read on below for the first details!
– Denpa Ningen (“electric wave person”) are little critters which exist alongside the electric waves that float around you every day
– Use the 3DS to capture the Denpa Ningen
– Create a team to rescue an important person from the demon king
– Different types of Denpa Ningen
– Some have elemental properties which can be discerned based off their color
– Some Denpa Ningen have antennas
– Antennas indicate special abilities
– Body size of the Denpa Ningen is related to HP, attack strength, and speed
– Make a varied party before entering dungeons
I might be wrong about this, but I believe Denpa Ningen RPG will be the first eShop game to receive a demo. A trial will hit the Japanese eShop tomorrow.
You can find the game’s website here.

Anyone remember this classic Nintendo Power issue? It’s pretty old – all the way back from April 1993.
At first glace, you may not pick up on anything particularly noteworthy. Upon closer inspection of the cover, however, you’ll notice that Fox’s legs appear to be made of metal… and he apparently lacks feet/legs.
Here’s where things get really interesting. Check out this blurb regarding legless pilots:
“Legless pilots can handle more Gs than their legged bretherin. When gravity forces blood from the brain to lower extremities, it causes the pilot to black out. But if you have no legs to force blood to, more blood can stay in the brain, and it’s easier for the heart to pump blood back to the brain.
“Their legs were probably voluntarily amputated as these are all trained pilots. Their futuristic society allows for prosthetics that allows them to walk and run normally so there’s no loss in performing these amputations.”
I will mention here that other titles in the series, such as Star Fox Command, make it seem as though the characters are wearing boots – see this picture for example.
So in the SNES game, the Star Fox unit’s legs were amputated so that they’d be more effective in the cockpit? With Nintendo, you never know! I’m not ready to believe this theory just yet, but it’s interesting nonetheless. Perhaps Nintendo was thinking about having the Star Fox crew lack feet/legs early on in the series, but later changed the “metal legs” to boots.

Club Nintendo members who ordered the Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Poster Set will soon receive a replacement copy. The Skyward Sword poster apparently contains a “design flaw”.
Nintendo will ship out new copies of the poster during the first week of February. A confirmation email will be sent once the poster has been mailed out.
“Dear Club Nintendo Member,
As you may have noticed, 1 of the posters in the Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Poster Set that we sent to you contained a minor flaw. On The Legend of Zelda™: Skyward Sword poster, there is a design flaw on the outline of the loft wing, to the right of the sword.

Again, we apologize for this error and we hope that you enjoy your new poster.
