Gynoug, a retro shooter that originally debuted on the SEGA Genesis, is now making its way to Switch. Ratalaika Games announced today that the title is arriving on November 12.

Gynoug, known in North America as Wings of Wor, first appeared in 1991. It comes with six levels, a power up system that increases your fire power and force as you progress and succeed, a high configurable CRT shader, a special mode that enables accessibility features, a rewind mode and save/load state functionality, and more.

The game has enemy bosses, mini bosses, ghouls, and other sorts of creatures. Along with a mid level boss, Gynoug also has an end level boss confrontation. Also look forward to dynamic music, “ever changing levels of play”, and long levels of mythical, subterranean, and cavernous fiery pursuit.

Here’s an overview of the story:

The planet has been decimated by a virus that has transformed and mutated into a breed of some of the most fearsome creatures ever! They are the Mutants of Iccus, led by the terrible Destroyer. Many have taken on the mutants before you… and many have failed. Now it’s your turn. From the deepest caverns of Iccus to the belly of the beast itself, you must fly and fight for the life of your planet! It won’t be easy… but then the best battles never are! Destroy the Destroyer and Iccus will be saved, its skies free once again. But fail and your wings will be clipped… forever!

We have a trailer for Gynoug below.

Gynoug will cost $6.99 / £5.99 / €5.99 on the Switch eShop.
