Shovel Knight: King of Cards, Showdown, Switch physical, new amiibo launching in December

During its video presentation today, Yacht Club Games provided an update on its slate of upcoming Shovel Knight projects. Shovel Knight: King of Cards, Shovel Knight Showdown, the physical release for Switch, and upcoming amiibo 3-pack are slated for December.

Here are some new details about amiibo functionality:

– Every game in the series supports the new amiibo
– Scan the figures to unlock new costumes
– Cosmetic only
– Can unlock new platforming challenges
– amiibo can unlock a fairy friend as well
– More amiibo surprises to come

And new features that are in the works:

Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove new features

– Shovel of Hope: third option for character pronouns
– Co-op Feats also now possible in Shovel of Hope
– Alchemy quick select in Plague of Shadows
– Specter Mode is adding five new challenges
– All games adding Korean and Traditional/Simplified Chinese language options
– Screen shake/flash options
– King of Cards also has palettes to improve colorblind visibility for Joustus
– New cheats
– Complete all Feats in a game to have a flag on the title screen
