Did you know that the gold Mario amiibo offers a little something special in Mario Party 10? Even though it’s not anything overly major, it’s a neat little nugget.

Reddit user “Fergood” tried out the gold Mario amiibo with Mario Party 10, and saw that there was a “set up” section where players can equip a Token. He then noticed that a “Gold” Token was already unlocked. You can obtain the token by unlocking all other gold Tokens, but Fergood was playing for the first time. He tried reloading Mario Party 10 with normal Mario, and the gold Token unlocked previously was no longer there. That must mean gold Mario can give players a little bonus!

Below are some photos showing how the gold Mario amiibo is used in Mario Party 10:

I think this is it for us in terms of posting Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker amiibo footage. You’ve probably all had your fill!

We’ve been cutting back a bit on posting custom amiibo on the site, but this one is too impressive not to share! One fan has created a custom Fierce Deity Link figure… and it looks totally awesome. You’ll find additional photos in the gallery below.

The official website for the next installment in Syn Sophia and Nintendo’s actually-really-good-I-swear series was today updated with some new information. Girls Mode 3: Kira Kira Code will feature 19,000 different items of clothing and accessories, including special items that are unlocked by using amiibo. The game will support all amiibo, however it seems that only the figures for Mario, Peach, Yoshi and Kirby will give out special “character items” like the stylish Mario hat pictured above. I for one am disappointed at the lack of Donkey Kong’s tie and King Dedede’s regal robes.

Thanks to Kobe C for the tip.
