Following the launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Nintendo Switch 2, Digital Foundry has taken a closer look at the port with a new technical analysis, which goes over frame rate, resolution, and more. Ubisoft clearer made some changes and cuts here, but it seems the game holds up well – though things aren’t perfect.

We have another look at Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Nintendo Switch 2 as a video has emerged that acts as a comparison for the PS5 and Xbox Series S versions.

There are cutbacks as expected – elements such as lighting, level of detail, textures, animations, shadows, draw distance, and reflections have been adjusted. Still, this is ultimately the same game you’re getting on other platforms, and the overall aesthetics have been maintained.

Ubisoft is about to deliver its second Nintendo Switch 2 port with Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and some of the first gameplay has now emerged. 35 minutes is available from the final retail build in docked mode.

Ubisoft recently delved into the work that went into this port, and it sounds like the team went all out. DLSS is used when played docked while a special VRR algorithm was made for handheld mode. More details can be found here.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be on Nintendo Switch 2 in just a few days, and Ubisoft has now gone into detail about the port – including confirmation that DLSS and VRR are supported.

Right out of the gate, all updates will be packed in with the exception of the Claws of Awaji expansion. However, that’s planned for February 2026. Cross-progression is supported across platforms and touch screen navigation will be available for menus, maps, and the hideout.

Assassins Creed Shadows Attack on Titan

Ubisoft today unveiled a special Attack on Titan collaboration for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which is bringing a new quest to the game. It will be available when the Nintendo Switch 2 version launches next week.

Here’s what’s included:

October 10: Evidence continues to mount that Assassin’s Creed Shadows is coming to Nintendo Switch 2. A retailer listing has now listed the game, which is a strong sign that an announcement is on the way.

French retailer Auchan is now listing Assassin’s Creed Shadows for Nintendo Switch 2. The page even includes the boxart, shown above. Unsurprisingly, we’re looking at another game-key card here.
