Nintendo reveals Europe’s best-selling digital games for December 2025 – Metroid on top for Switch 2

This week, Nintendo provided a listing of the top 15 European eShop downloads for December 2025. We have data for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch here.
Over on Nintendo Switch 2, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond comes out on top with Assassin’s Creed Shadows (#5) and Octopath Traveler 0 (#11) appearing as new releases as well. Metroid also shows up for the previous system, but down at #13.

After a few weeks, Pokemon Legends: Z-A is back to #1 after it was previously toppled by Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and then Super Mario Party Jamboree. Another game that’s moved up is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – that’s right behind at #2.

The latest UK software sales chart for the week ending January 3, 2026 is now available.
We’re still in the holiday lull, so there’s not a ton to report this time around. That said, Mario Kart World is holding on strong to the top spot. Even Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which was #5 last week, is in the top ten – it only fell a couple of spots.
