Nintendo reveals best selling digital Switch 2, Switch games of 2025 in Japan

As we wrap up 2025, Nintendo has posted new data that reveals Japan’s best-selling digital games on Switch 2 and Switch for the year.
On Nintendo Switch 2, Mario Kart World comes out on top as most would probably expect. Pokemon Legends: Z-A does have a strong showing though in second – plus it’s #1 on the Switch 1 list.

The latest UK software sales chart for the week ending December 20, 2025 is now available.
Mario Kart World managed to hit #1 again last week, and while it’s still towards the top, it slipped a spot. Pokemon Legends: Z-A, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Donkey Kong Bananza are also in the top ten.

New data provided by Famitsu gives us a look at Japan’s best-selling games of November 2025.
The month had some big releases, including Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake and Kirby Air Riders. The former sold nearly 300,000 copies while the latter debuted at close to 250,000 units sold at retail.

The latest Nintendo Switch 2 eShop charts for the week of December 21, 2025 are now available.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond has been leading on the system since launch, and it’s still able to hold off Pokemon for the top spot. Elsewhere, Divinity: Original Sin 2 appears in the top ten following its release.

The latest Nintendo Switch eShop charts for the week of December 20, 2025 are now available.
Similar to last week, after it took over the top spot for Metroid Prime 4, Pokemon Legends: Z-A is back at #1. There’s not a ton happening in terms of new releases and it’s mainly about evergreen titles and games on sale taking over.

New data from Circana gives us a look at the best-selling games of November 2025 specifically on Nintendo platforms.
Just like last month, Pokemon Legends: Z-A is the #1 game. There are a couple of new games – Kirby Air Riders and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment are right behind at #2 and #3 respectively.
