Developer Frogwares has officially announced that The Sinking City will be hitting Switch on September 12. It will initially be digital-only, though a physical version hasn’t been ruled out entirely.

Communications manager Sergey Oganesyan had this to say about possibly bringing The Sinking City to retail:

According to a listing on the Japanese eShop, The Sinking City will release for Switch on September 12. Pre-orders are live, and we presume that other regions will follow shortly.

Here’s an overview of The Sinking City, along with a trailer:

The Sinking City was announced for Switch at E3 2019 back in June. Frogwares has now provided an update, including first footage of the game running on the console.

Rather than opting for a straight port, the team included some new functionality and “worked on multiple improvements and tweaks based on player feedback.” Producer Serge Chervonnyi said of the Switch version:

At E3 this year, it was revealed that The Sinking City will come to Nintendo Switch this Fall. However, other platform owners won’t have to wait that long as they’ll be able to play the game later this week, in June 27. Here’s a new trailer for the game – though keep in mind that it likely isn’t showing footage from the Switch version:
