Goosebumps Dead of Night update 1.01

Scholastic, Sony Pictures Consumer Products, and developer Cosmic Forces have issued a new 1.01 update for Goosebumps: Dead of Night. It adds an Extreme Mode with supercharged monster AI, new achievements, and more.

It’s somewhat of a surprise to see Goosebumps: Dead of Night getting an update after such a lengthy period. The title came to Switch in July 2020, so it’s been well over a year since the title first debuted.

As for the new update, features of the patch include:

Thanks to a listing on GameStop, Goosebumps: Dead of Night is now confirmed for physical release. It was previously released via the Switch eShop as a digital-only title.

Based on GameStop’s listing, we should be seeing Goosebumps: Dead of Night on October 2. Pre-orders are currently live here.

Today, Cosmic Forces officially announced their upcoming first-person spooky survival adventure title Goosebumps: Dead of Night with a new trailer.

Once again, an age rating seemingly confirms that a game is coming to Nintendo Switch. This time, PEGI, the age rating agency for many European countries, has rated “Goosebumps: Dead of Night” for Nintendo Switch. The game has been given a rating of PEGI 12 because it features “moderate violence, realistic violence of a minor nature towards human characters and scenes of a horrific nature that younger players may find disturbing”.

The game has yet to be officially announced for any platform, so this age rating is literally all we have on it. The (incomplete) description on PEGI’s website reads “
