NBA 2K18 Switch file size, day and date updates with PS4/Xbox One
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 16 Comments
We have more news about the Switch version of NBA 2K18 stemming from a hands on event that took place today.
First up, NBA 2K18 will be about 25GB. That puts it as one of the larger digital downloads on Switch, but if you have a big microSD card, it’s not entirely unmanageable.
We also have good news about updates on Switch. Nintendo is allowing developer Visual Concepts to push updates day and date with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. That means the Switch version won’t be forgotten, and will be receiving the same treatment as other platforms post-launch.

NBA 2K18 unveiles “The Neighborhood”
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
2K Sports unveiled a new mode debuting in NBA 2K18 for the first time. MyPARK, Pro-Am and the popular MyCAREER experience will be brought together in The Neighborhood.
Here’s the full rundown:
The Neighborhood is unlike anything ever seen in NBA 2K or any other sports career mode before. MyPLAYERs live in a neighborhood environment with several locations in the city blocks to visit, flush with other MyPLAYERs and characters with whom to interact. Experiences and ratings revolve around player actions, whether it’s running into Kyrie Irving while getting a shave at the barbershop, competing on the courts in The Playground, getting inked at the tattoo parlor, listening to the latest beats or showing off the latest gear to friends while strolling the block. A user’s experience is entirely shaped by how they compete, allowing them to reap the rewards of playing NBA 2K18 the way they enjoy it most.

NBA 2K18 for Switch has same content and modes as PS4 version, amiibo support confirmed
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 72 Comments
Update: Another important detail has come in. NBA 2K18 will run at 30 frames per second, while the PlayStation and Xbox One versions are 60 FPS.
2K Sports and Visual Concepts seem to be treating the Switch version of NBA 2K18 well. Folks are starting to go hands on with the game, including USgamer, and we’re hearing that it’s feature complete and will be identical to the PlayStation 4 version. NBA 2K18 players on Switch can expect the inclusion of MyGM team-management, MyLeague, MyCareer, Story mode, and everything else. It’s the same engine across all platforms.
amiibo support is officially confirmed as well. However, the specifics are being kept under wraps.

NBA 2K18 boxart updated on Switch, internet download and microSD card required
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 31 Comments
Retailers are updating the boxart for NBA 2K18 on Switch. It’s mostly the same, but the packaging has one key addition. As shown above, it’s noted that an internet download and microSD card are required.
The boxart change isn’t just limited to one retailer. Best Buy and GameStop have both made the change for all versions – the Early Tip-Off Edition and Legend Editions.
We still have to assume that NBA 2K18 will come on a cartridge on Switch. However, you may need an extra download before you can begin playing. NBA 2K games tend to be huge, so perhaps it couldn’t fit on the cartridge alone. That’s just our speculation, however.
Thanks to megasnorlax for the tip.
