Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut has just received a new update. Version 1.0.1 is live in North America and Europe, inXile Entertainment has confirmed.

Today’s patch addresses the technical side of things. In addition to fixing random encounter crashes, performance has been improved.

Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut update is out now on the Switch eShop, but a physical version is also coming soon.

Wastleland 2: Director's Cut

Wasteland 2 came out on the Switch eShop back in September. However, a physical version had also been promised for later in the year – specifically this month. Yet December is about to end, and there’s no indication that Wasteland 2 will be on store shelves soon. Various retailers such as GameStop show new placeholder dates of December 31, 2019.

We’ve yet to receive a new release date from inXile Entertainment. As soon as we have more news about the situation, we’ll pass it along here on the site. 

Wasteland 2: Director's Cut

Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut is now available on the Switch eShop. If you’re able to hold out for a few months though, you’ll be able to get your hands on a physical copy.

inXile Entertainment has announced that Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut will be sold at retail starting December 4. No price point was given, but it costs $29.99 on the eShop.

From developer and publisher inXile Entertainment, Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut is now available for purchase on the Nintendo Switch eShop. As such, Direct-Feed Games has posted footage of the game’s first 30 minutes of gameplay for fans’ viewing pleasure. Check out the direct-feed capture footage below.

Yesterday, a trailer was made available for Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut on Switch. inXile Entertainment followed up today by announcing that the post-apocalyptic RPG is hitting Nintendo’s console in August.

Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut is an enhanced version of the original game with several improvements and additions. Here’s a rundown of features:

For those who missed it during E3, Wastleland 2: Director’s Cut Switch will head to Switch this fall.

inXile Entertainment CEO Brian Fargo has revealed that Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut is coming to Switch.

Fargo posted the following on Twitter:


Wasteland 2 originally released in 2014 to a positive reception. It’s a turn-based and RPG with a mix of with tactical combat. For the late 2015’s release of Director’s Cut, inXile overhauled the visuals, added special personality traits and precision strikes, and recorded a ton of new voice-over.
