Monolith Soft 2023 fiscal profit

Xenoblade developer Monolith Soft just experienced a very good year, as for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023, the company saw a big increase in profits. According to Gamebiz, profit came in at 800 million. That’s an increase of 97.8 percent year-over-year.

2022 was big for Monolith Soft as Xenoblade Chronicles 3 launched that July. A few months ago, the game wrapped up its Expansion Pass with new story DLC titled Future Redeemed that essentially wrapped up the series’ saga that started with the first entry on Wii.

While many recognize Monolith Soft for Xenoblade Chronicles – that’s the company’s bread and butter after all – it also provides huge assistance to Nintendo overall. One of its studios most recently worked on The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Monolith Soft was also involved with Breath of the Wild, the entire Splatoon series, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and more.

Nintendo acquired Monolith Soft in 2007. The first collaboration between the two sides was the DS title Soma Bringer, which never left Japan. Disaster: Day of Crisis followed next for Wii, and while it was localized, it never came to North America – only Europe.

Monolith Soft was originally founded in 1999. The company’s website can be found here.
