  • That remix of Lost in Thoughts, almost made me cry

  • Vigilante_blade

That trailer made me cringe, sadly. That cast is just…. awful.

    • Amazing that IntSys can make an extremely diverse cast in FEH but not be bothered in a $40/60 console game OR its DLC

      • Vigilante_blade

Yeah, the DPC was a real kick in the gonads.

  • DiscoGentleman

The biggest news here is that the Japanese voice pack are free to download at launch. You should have an article dedicated to that to appease all the people that lost their minds the other day.

  • Velen (Not WoW)

I actually have to agree with Vigilante for once… The cast isn’t particularly good as is right now.

We can only hope it gets better with the DLC and that sales and DLC sales materialize in a way that allows for more fan-directed DLC.

    • NeptuniasBeard

Eh, different strokes. I think the roster is pretty dang great. And unlike Hyrule Warriors there doesn’t appear to be anyone that looks like a chore to play as.

      • Velen (Not WoW)

        I’ll give you that.

I’m especially excited to play Lyn. Cause MANI KATTI ATTACK!

      • While HW had several ineffective characters, that pales in comparison to the lack of every kind of variety in FEW.

        • NeptuniasBeard

But that is due largely in part to the lack of variety Fire Emblem inherently has. Zelda has several dozen items to draw inspiration from while FE mainly focuses on like, 5, with the occasional oddball. It took until Fates before dagger classes were introduced. That’s six.

          • No dual wielders? Thieves, Assassins, armored, mounted lances, flying tomes/swords? Instead we get every member of the Fates royal families? Come on.

    • Fandangle

They already confirmed the DLC will all focus on 1/11, 13, and 14 and that they’re holding other characters hostage so the older fans will buy it for them potentially being in the sequel.

Everything about this game is cancer.

  • Busterblade

Eh, I’ll just play it and enjoy it, and all the hot-air clashing can go 1-up itself.

  • Dragonage2ftw

This game is lookin’ pretty perfect.

  • MagcargoMan

Why do the attack hitboxes look so jank? They swing their weapons and a tonne of soldiers that weren’t even hit by the blade or its slash line are knocked up in the air. Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t remember it being that way in Hyrule Warriors.

    • DiscoGentleman

Might be a special attack you’re looking at. Hyrule Warriors (and pretty much every Warriors title) does have those generous hit boxes to varying degrees, but depending on the camera angle it is more/less obvious.

      • MagcargoMan

I don’t think that’s the case. Take a look at a few of these Hyrule Warriors character trailers and you’ll see that pretty much all their attacks don’t seem to hit many enemies outside their visual reach at all; only when their activate their elemental power or perform a finisher do they start hitting enemies outside their range. Even Ganondorf’s range isn’t as absurd as most of these Fire Emblem Warriors characters.

Now compare to that to parts of the trailer for Fire Emblem Warriors above and many other trailers where there’s tonnes of of enemies being hit by attacks outside of the weapon’s range even taking the visible slash marks into account. It looks really dodgy in comparison to Hyrule Warriors.

    • It wasn’t. While HW also had generous hitboxes, they weren’t egregious like FEW’s, where you can seemingly hit 200 enemies across half the keep with basic attack strings. It’s like every character is FD Link.
