Seems Nintendo has increased production, in Japan at least.

  • Ser2k2

Nintendo Switch is doing well in Japan. Another good week to Nintendo in Japan.

  • Game_God

lol @ DQ X expansion sales, Wii U version almost double the PS4 sales, even the Switch on a smaller user base sold 5K more units than the PS4!!!
Devs in Japan must be in full panic mode, shifting resources towards the Switch!!!

  • Princess_Eevee9

Welcome to your Nintendo Switchvolution! Those poor dumb Japanese Developers must all be kicking themselves for missing out on free monies.

  • Stuart

8 months later and Switch is still selling like is still in it’s launch hype, truly an mind blowing comeback from Nintendo.

Does anyone have the numbers of Battlefront 1 in Japan? How does it compares to the sequel?

  • Tga215

Damn switch like it’s really on track to have wii numbers at this rate it’s going man I feel bad for Microsoft jeez they can’t catch a break in Japan

  • GoldenTriforce

I presume DQ X 1-3 also did better on Switch then? (compared to PS4)

  • Don Zaloog

Damn! These Japanese devs must be kicking themselves for not putting their games on the Switch from the start. That .hack game should be on Switch, DQ11 should be on Switch already instead of coming next year.

Next year, I expect all of their games to be announced for Switch starting with Ni No Kuni.

    • Aline Piroutek

If the new games in 2018 don’t come to Switch, we know it is a deal with Sony.

      • Don Zaloog

        Damn right.

  • Locky Mavo

Damn Pokémon, you crazy. Can you imagine what’ll be like when it comes out on the Switch? Interesting to see the WiiU DQX out do both the Switch and PS4.

  • Roto Prime

sony, I told you, we coming for you…get your game on!!!

    PS4 (released 02.22.2014): 5,465,791*

    SWITCH (released 03.03.2017): 2,228,804

    *includes Pro sales

    • lpfm

      Plus, week 38:

      Switch: 86.999
      3DS: 103,962
      Wii U: 7,030

      • Eagle367

Did Pokémon release or something for 3ds?

        • lpfm

          short after price cut!

          • Eagle367

            Oh okay thanks

  • awng782

The Pokemon Double Pack sold ridiculously well relative to the normal versions.

Battlefront 2 launch sales are down 67% over Battlefront 1.

  • hi v3.0

Nintendo did incredibly well this week
Also DQX sold the most on Wii U! Wii U ftw lol

    • Gregory Weagle

Too bad it only moved SEVEN extra units of hardware.

Switch still did better than PS4 though.

  • Aline Piroutek

Those 80000 sales every week, people usually buy which game with the console? Most of the games sold aren’t even a quarter of the total of Switch sold.

    • lpfm

There are a lot of games, and don’t forget digital too.

      • Aline Piroutek

I thought they would CERTAINLY buy Splatoon 2/Mario/Zelda/Mario Kart as their first game.
To reach at least 20000 of sales in one of the titles.

        • lpfm

          But Mario did 60k.

          • Aline Piroutek

            lol, I didn’t saw

        • Eagle367

And splat 2 is higher than 20000

  • Radish

    New 3DS – 280

    Xbox One X – 143

The Xbox One X flopped in its debut week, and in its 2nd week is already dead. But hey, at least its the most powerful console ever created.

    • Tlink7

Xbox always does this in Japan, props to MS for actually caring about their extremely small fanbase

      • Radish

The funny thing is that there are games like Valkyria Chronicles 4 that have been announced and only being released on the Xbox One in North America and Europe, but not Japan!

        • NMatt

We actually don’t know yet. These are only numbers the Japanese sales and there are more places in the world than Japan! lol
From what we do know is the pre-order volume made Microsoft increase their 2017 sell-through forecast for Xbox One X and IHS Markit has increased its 2017 forecast from 500,000 to 900,000 units. And if this happens, Xbox One share of total Q4 2017 Xbox One console family sales will be close to 20 percent, similar to the performance of PS4 Pro at launch.
So we will see, I hear they might release exact sales figures in January 2018.

          • Radish

This is Microsoft. If they had amazing sales they would be bragging about the numbers, not the percentages based on low-ball expectations. Just like they bragged about it being the most powerful console ever. But I guess all the graphics wh0res who can’t afford a PC finally got what they wanted. Cuphead in 4k.

I look forward to seeing how badly Xbox gets destroyed by the little Switch. : >

          • Gregory Weagle

Not to mention that even if IHS is right; 900,000 units for XBOX 1 X in the holiday season is still going to look much less impressive than Switch selling 2.74 million in March. Plus; Switch did that in 28 days, XBOX 1 X, I think is closer to 45 days.

Never mind that Cuphead’s entire art scheme uses a style from a time when television was an experiment.

        • Tlink7

…that’s kinda weird… I guess some devs just can’t give it to the Japanese fanbase because they can’t afford the losses lol

  • MajoraMan28

When you don’t see DQXI on the chart, you know something is wrong with the PS4.
The game should be exploding to this day in sales. I guess people are waiting for the Switch version. There are rumors that the Switch version would debut the international version with the orchestral soundtrack that was recorded about two months ago (the presentation is on YT if you want to hear, btw)
Hopefully this sends a message to S-E. And this makes them bring Final Fantasy VII to the Switch

    • Nhat Anh Hoang

They will, it is PSX ver

      • MajoraMan28

Would be cool if they made the Remake for the Switch and the OG as a Virtual Console offer.

        • Nhat Anh Hoang

Cool but will they? Not sure

So odd that the Wii U version of Dragon Quest X: 5,000 Year Journey to a Faraway Hometown Online outsells the Nintendo Switch version despite the Wii U being all but dead!
