Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma has managed to surpass 500,000 units worldwide. This was announced via the official Rune Factory X account.

Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma was originally announced for Nintendo Switch and Steam, but also received a Switch 2 version. Both versions launched alongside the Nintendo Switch 2, on June 5, 2025.

May 7: GungHo and Falcom have announced that Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter has locked in a release date of September 19, 2025.  Alongside the release date, more of the Japanese voice cast was detailed in this week’s Famitsu magazine.

The turn-based RPG was originally announced in a 2024 as The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st, and is a remake of 2004’s The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. This will mark the game’s first appearance on a Nintendo console and will include fully voice-acted cutscenes in English and Japanese, various changes to the gameplay, and a fully 3D art style.

The Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app has just gone live with another update, this one being version 2.2.0.

The bigger changes in this update are the display for play activity, and an addition of information to the bottom of notifications. Then there’s also some of Nintendo’s famous unspecified improvements.

Publisher TBS Games has announced a party action game titled Lappy Games. The game will launch on Switch on August 20, 2025.

Developed by Will Co Ltd, Lappy Games is based on the variety game show Love It! Players will be competing in 2D platforming stages to collect hearts. Although the show is based in Japan, English will be a supported language option.

Here’s some more information about the game:

Ratalaika Games has announced that they’ll be publishing 1989 After the War to Nintendo Switch this week. The release is planned for August 15, 2025.

1989 After the War was originally developed by Seep. The game takes place after an atomic war had stricken the world. You’ll be slicing, shooting, and throwing grenades through the post apocalypse as you seek for justice in the chaos.

The next major update for Nintendo Music is now rolling out, this one being 1.3.0. If you’ve downloaded the app on mobile, you should be seeing it soon.

The main thing we’re seeing here is adding some functionality to the app even after your Nintendo Switch Online membership cancels.

The version 1.5.0 update for Gal Guardians: Servants of the Dark has just been released. A future update for online multiplayer has also been announced for Fall 2025.

Inti Creates had previously announced that they would be supporting Gal Guardians: Servants of the Dark with four monthly updates starting in April. Version 1.5.0 is the was supposed to be the last bringing online multiplayer, but that functionality has been delayed.

CFK has just announced that they will be bringing Nightmare: The Lunatic to Switch. The game is set for December 4, 2025 with a physical release in Japan.

Nightmare: The Lunatic is an action rogue-lite in which you swap weapons, parry, and you special attacks to escape a Nightmare. Developed by Maetdol Games, it originally released on Steam in 2024.

A new version 1.2.1 update is now rolling out for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury.

Nintendo says some issues have regarding how the game plays on Switch 2 have been fixed. Nothing specific though, as usual.
