Bomberman Blast going the Mario Kart route with tournaments
Posted on 16 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 0 comments
With the release of Bomberman Blast on WiiWare, Hudson Entertainment will offer several online tournaments, including one that coincides with the game’s launch. The first tournament will be a live, online, head-to-head competition between 49 randomly-selected entrants, hosted by Hudson Entertainment. Registration for the tournament and an associated sweepstakes begins immediately and runs until 5:00 p.m. PST on October 3, 2008. The competition itself will take place starting at 2:00 p.m. PST on October 6, 2008. For more information on the upcoming tournaments and to register, players can visit www.Hudsonentertainment.com.
If anything, these tournaments will only add to the game. Like Mario Kart Wii, having new content (in this case, tournaments) available greatly helps to extend the replay value of a title.
AC producer has things he wants to say but can’t reveal

Nintendo works in very mysterious ways. Half the time, fans are lucky if they even get one bit of “hidden” details through interviews with Nintendo employees. It is for this reason that Animal Crossing producer Katsuya Eguchi’s latest words are no surprise. “There are things that I’d like to say but I don’t think I can reveal anything right now,” he said.
Eguchi continued, discussing the possibility of a future DS. “As you know, Nintendo are always working on new hardware and looking to the future. If, say, we were working on a new handheld, one of the things that would happen is that we’d talk to the hardware teams and they’d tell us the sort of things that we’d be able to do in our games, then we can include some of those elements in our software. And conversely it works the other way too. We come up with ideas for things that we’d like to put in a game and say to the hardware people ‘it’d be great if we could do this’. It’s a back and forth relationship.”

Nintendo comments on new DS rumors
Posted on 16 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in DS, News | 1 Comment
Details regarding a new DS were leaked over the weekend, but there are always doubts when rumors arise. However, Nintendo has commented on the situation and the response is a bit different than the typical “we cannot comment on rumors and speculation” approach. Said Nintendo, “We are always developing new products; No formal announcement has been made, thus we cannot comment at this time.” The possibility of a new DS is still alive and well, especially because there are a few reliable Japanese sources behind the original rumor. However, it’s pretty much a guarantee that the rumor’s validity will finally be put to rest come Thursday at Nintendo’s fall conferences.
