The new 3DS Castlevania game doesn’t appear to be subtitled Mirror of Faith. Instead, it sounds like it’ll be called “Mirror of Fate”.

Konami has registered a couple of domain names relating to the title, making it seem as though an announcement is inevitable. Both CastleVania-MirrorOfFate.com and CastleVania-MirrorOfFate.net were picked up by Konami earlier this year.

The company is expected to make the game official late next week during its pre-E3 show. Konami hasn’t made an official announcement about the event, though it should be taking place on May 31.

New Game for Nintendo 3DS Features Singles and Doubles Matches, Special Games, Online Multiplayer Modes and Mii Customization Options

REDMOND, Wash., May 21, 2012 – Rain or shine, Nintendo fans can now enjoy a fun flurry of tennis-themed challenges anytime, anywhere. Mario Tennis Open is now available for the Nintendo 3DS hand-held system, inviting players to step onto the court with Mario and his Mushroom Kingdom pals for fast-paced singles and doubles tennis matches, skill-building Special Games and new online modes that let friends and family members with wireless Internet access compete together. The game also features new ways for players to customize their Mii characters and interact with other players via the built-in StreetPass feature.

In Mario Tennis Open, players can take on the role of fan-favorite characters such as Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Bowser, or play as their own personalized Mii character. Choosing between the Nintendo 3DS system’s intuitive touch-screen controls or traditional button controls, they can dive into action-packed tennis matches in single-player mode or invite others to join in the fun using a local wireless or Wi-Fi Internet connection. With each victory, players accumulate coins that can be redeemed for virtual items like rackets, sneakers and tennis uniforms, which not only enhance the appearance of their Mii character but also boost their stats on the court.

A new reward has been added to the North American Club Nintendo site.

The 3DS Luigi pouch was made available in March. Starting today, members can order a Mario pouch as well. It can be purchased for 450 coins.

Nintendo provided the following description of the reward:

Show your love for Mario with this protective case for Nintendo portable systems. Made of durable nylon with a zip enclosure, the pouch has a built-in pocket for an extra Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo DS game card.

  • Durable nylon construction
  • Fits Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo DSi, and Nintendo DS Lite
  • Dimensions: Approx. 5 inches x 7 inches

Update: NeoGAF member “Santiako” is adding more details to the rumor. Mirror of Faith features 2D gameplay similar to what was produced on the DS. However, Mercury Steam is making the game rather than Konami. Konami will still be publishing.

It seems that Konami will be announcing Castlevania: Mirror of Faith, a new 3DS title, at this year’s E3. The news apparently comes from the company’s appointment schedule for the event.

Gameplay information is not yet available. However, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow producer David Cox and director/writer Enric Álvarez are supposedly working on Mirror of Faith.

Take this with a grain of salt for now. It would certainly make sense to bring a new Castlevania to the 3DS though.
