This information comes directly from Nintendo’s conference…

“Similar to Wii, Nintendo 3DS will have a Virtual Console function to purchase classic software. We are planning to start by making software for Game Boy and Game Boy Color available.” – Satoru Iwata

As you can see, there’s absolutely no mention of Game Boy Advance titles. I suppose it was incorrectly reported and spread like wildfire on the Internet. Still, I think there’s a strong chance that we could see GBA downloads on the 3DS eventually.

This information comes from Hajime Tabata…

“If I were to do something on 3DS, it’d be a Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII remake i guess. Completely changing the scenario composition and game design for the 3DS, if it were an action RPG BCFF7 that lots of Turk players could simultaneously play at a dizzying pace, wait a second this work is not an official announcement of course.”

Well, a number of Final Fantasy titles found new life on the DS, and I’m sure fans of the franchise would be open to another round of remakes on the 3DS. Nothing is set in stone yet, though!
