Customized Kirby Truck to Help Area Fans Attack Snack Time with Frozen Fruit Treats and Hands-On Video Game Demos
–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Nintendo:
WHAT:
To give hungry fans a fun way to attack snack time, Nintendo has something special in store for folks in New York City and beyond. On Sept. 14, a customized Kirby Snack Attack Truck will offer frozen fruit treats to fans around New York’s Rockefeller Plaza to help mark the launch of the new Kirby™ Mass Attack game for the Nintendo DS™ family of systems. While enjoying these tasty snacks, participants can enjoy hands-on demos of Kirby Mass Attack, in which gobbling up fruit allows players to accumulate a mass of up to 10 Kirbys at a time. In addition to Rockefeller Plaza, the truck will make a special stop at an area school. Other Kirby Snack Attack Trucks will be visiting the San Francisco Bay Area and the aptly named Upper Kirby neighborhood of Houston. The truck tour will culminate in a special visit to the GameStop store in Upper Kirby on Sept. 18.Launching across the United States on Sept. 19, Kirby Mass Attack is playable on the Nintendo DS family of hand-held game systems – which includes Nintendo DS, Nintendo DSi™ and Nintendo DSi XL™ – as well as the Nintendo 3DS™ system. The game offers a fun twist for new and experienced Kirby fans. Unique touch-screen controls let players control up to 10 Kirbys at a time as they take down enemies and break through obstacles across five colorful, side-scrolling worlds. They can build up a mob of Kirbys by eating fruit, and as their swarm gets bigger and more powerful, they can access new areas and defeat tougher enemies.

Zelda: Four Swords DSiWare details, offered for a limited time
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in DS, News | 0 comments
This information comes from Nintendo of America’s latest press release…
“In honor of the 25th anniversary, Nintendo is offering a free classic game for a limited time. The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition will be available to download between Sept. 28, 2011, and Feb. 20, 2012. Fans can download the Nintendo DSiWare™ version of the game using their Nintendo DSi™ or Nintendo DSi XL™ systems, or by accessing the Nintendo eShop with a Nintendo 3DS system (wireless broadband Internet access is required for download). The game allows up to four players who have downloaded the game to play cooperatively and has also been enhanced with a new single-player mode. Unlike the original, all multiplayer game play is handled wirelessly. Once players finish the main quest, they will unlock new stages and abilities to expand the game’s replay value.”
The wording in this press release makes it sound like the title will be completely gone once February 20th arrives. That kind of stinks… the least they could do is leave it up on DSiWare/the eShop and let fans purchase the game!

Contact director wants to make a sequel
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in DS, News | 0 comments
Suda51, the producer behind Contact, actually said around five years ago that a sequel to title would be made. We never saw anything of the sort, however.
At least we know that the game’s director has a great deal of interest in a follow-up. In a recent interview, Akira Ueda said “I hope that I can indeed release Contact 2 someday.”
Here’s his full response:
“Yes, I will. I’m always ready to work with him! But Suda-san always looks busy *laughs* As for my personal feelings in general towards a second game, I hope that I can indeed release Contact 2 someday. The world of Contact cannot be represented without the Professor and Mochi! Regardless of the business aspects of making a sequel, I think the world would be a better place if there was another Contact game in existence!”
