General Nintendo

The following is an email I received from Nintendo in regards to the Club Nintendo Elite Status reward, but I’m not sure if Doc Louis’s Punch-Out!! is actually going to be shipped in the mail.

“We wanted to let you know that we are preparing to begin shipping the 2009 Elite Status Rewards!

We had thousands of loyal Nintendo fans reach Elite Status last June and it is going to take us a couple of weeks to ship all the orders.

So, even though your friends or neighbors may receive their Reward before you do, please be assured that your order is being processed too!

You will receive another email when your reward order ships.

Thank you for your interest and excitement and we hope you enjoy your Club Nintendo Elite Status Reward.”

Remember when Nintendo showed Metroid Prime Trilogy to the press when it was still a secret and revealed the game through a press release days later? Well, that’s apparently what’s happening with another project from the Big N.

On the latest IGN Nintendo Voice Chat podcast, a new mystery title was discussed. Although the Nintendo Team didn’t have much to say because it hasn’t been officially announced yet, Craig Harris did say that “judging from what it is, it’s not a B title.” Apparently it’s also a game that, as Matt Casamassina described, “came out of nowhere.” Fans probably won’t hear about what the title is all about for at least a few days, as that is what happened with Trilogy. But seeing as how it’s already in a playable state, there’s a good chance information will be shared sometime in the near future.

We made a notice about this a week or so ago, but now we also have some additional information that was not included in the original post:

– If you buy two games, you can pick up a third one for free
– Includes all games
– “Free/discounted item must be of equal or lesser value to the lowest priced item purchased”
– This deal includes accessories from $5 – $100
– Because they are considered to be gift cards, new point cards are not included in the sale (unless they come in some sort of bundle packs)
– Unfortunately, the deal is only for residents of the United States
– Reward members can use this coupon to take $5 off the purchase
– Check your local store regarding preorders – There may be a chance to preorder certain games at the register
– You can take advantage of the deal numerous times (meaning you can have another order of three games)
– If the game has been opened, you can only return the original purchase for the same title
– Bundles should be included in the deal
– Takes place from 10/11 – 10/17

During the Tokyo Game Show, Koei Tecmo published a trailer for an unannounced title. There wasn’t much to the actual video and the game itself has been shrouded in mystery. However, according to the official website, Koei Tecmo will be properly unveiling the game next Wednesday in Tokyo. Company president Kenji Matsubara and producer Hisashi Koinuma (Samurai Warriors 2, Samurai Warrios 3) will be attending.

Some have speculated that the new title might be a Fist of the North Star project. A few games in the series have launched on the DS and Wii, but it remains to be seen which platform(s) this new game will land on. If it is Nintendo related, we’ll keep you up-to-date.
