So, VGSavings. It’s officially a failed experiment.

I’ve been thinking about the best course of action for the site for a few weeks now. And after talking with some folks and taking everything into account, I’ve decided that it’d be best to shut it down. I’m not sure if that’s a permanent decision, but that’s where things stand for the time being.

It’s incredibly tough managing a site. For the most part, I somehow have two running by myself. I think I underestimated how much work and effort is required in keeping a site up-to-date on a daily/hourly basis. VGSavings certainly opened my eyes to those challenges once again. Clearly I’m not in a position to be overseeing and writing for a third site at the moment.

Now, even though VGSavings is out of the picture, I do plan on updating Nintendo Everything and Gaming Everything with deals/savings/other offers on a more regular basis. I’m not sure why this had been a neglected area previously… but hey, we’re looking to fix that now. Although you won’t see as much savings content on NE/GE as you would on VGSavings, this is something I’ll be covering more frequently.

It’ll be a win-win for everybody – less pressure on me having to maintain a third website, and more opportunities for you guys to save some dough.

GameTrailers editor in chief Shade Satterfield predicted a $299 price tag for Wii U on a recent episode of Invisible Walls. During the same show, Satterfield also praised Assassin’s Creed III and teased an unannounced game that could launch alongside the new console.

Regarding Assassin’s Creed III, Satterfield believes that the console version looks best on Wii U. He’s played the game on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as well. Assassin’s Creed III’s visuals, paired with “added functionality” make it a worthwhile Wii U launch title for Satterfield:

“I’m definitely getting Assassin’s Creed III. And like Mike said, I’ve seen pretty much all three versions at this point. To me, the Wii U version looks the best. It also has added functionality, so that would probably be the one game I’d buy with the Wii U, would be Assassin’s Creed III.”

Satterfield could be picking up a second game for Wii U this holiday season. The thing is, it hasn’t been announced yet, and it isn’t set in stone for launch.

Satterfield teased:

“There’s another game that might make launch that hasn’t been announced yet that maybe I would buy for it. But I can’t really mention that.”

Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada isn’t going to push Masahiro Sakurai into adding any of his characters on the roster for the next Smash Bros. games. Tales series producer Makoto Yoshizumi seems to be carrying the same mentality, though Yoshito Higuchi would apparently “love” to see a character or two included.

Yoshizumi has said that getting a Tales character into the new Smash Bros. may prove to be difficult since “a character can only appear in a Smash Bros game if he already appeared on a Nintendo console.” This rule limits the selection to a few titles such as Tales of Symphonia, Tales of the Abyss, and Tales of Hearts.

Head past the break for all of Yoshizumi’s comments on Smash Bros.

Scribblenauts Unlimited will offer very similar experiences on Wii U and 3DS. According to Nintendo Power, both titles contain the same missions, worlds, upgraded dictionary, and open-ended gameplay.

So what sets the two apart? Nintendo Power says Scribblenauts Unlimited 3DS “will include StreetPass functionality that will allow you to see what objects other players have used to overcome the game’s challenges, as well as stereoscopic 3D enhancements for the cinematics.”

There’s one important element missing from the 3DS version though: the new object editor.
