Footage leaked out yesterday of a Renegade Kid-made Crash Bandicoot DS demo. Did you know that the studio made the prototype in just two weeks? That is the case, according to Jools Watsham. Renegade Kid put fourteen days of work into the project… and then never touched it again.
@chillybillz We only spent a couple of weeks on the demo and haven’ttouched it since.

The Conduit seeing Android port, will work with Project Shield

The Conduit was once hyped as a hardcore, exclusive first-person shooter for Wii. More than three years following its release, it looks like the title will now be heading to a new platform.
At CES 2013, The Conduit popped up on the Android-featured Nvidia TegraZone store. NVidia reps have, on the record, confirmed that The Conduit will be compatible with the new Project Shield handheld. While High Voltage Software is indeed developing the title, other details are unknown.
Treyarch dev says next Black Ops 2 Wii U patch is in the works, still no word on DLC

“I posted today that we are working on the next patch, which should include any updates/fixes made to the other platforms up to this point.” – A_Trey_U, via the Call of Duty Community Forums
This response was posted in a thread about whether or not DLC will be coming to the Wii U… and the developer just skipped right over talking about that! Somewhat frustrating as someone who really wants to give them my money for the next zombies map, but what can ya do!?

Citing an anonymous source close to Activision, NintendoWorldReport writes that Renegade Kid created a demo around 2008 or 2009. A video featuring footage from the prototype is posted above.
Trine 2 Magic Mayhem mode probably not happening, Trine 3 “a no brainer”, more

Frozenbyte originally intended to include a “Magic Mayhem” mode in Trine 2: Director’s Cut following the game’s launch. But in an interview with GamingBolt, the studio’s George Reith said that the feature probably won’t be released. Magic Mayhem was scrapped for the launch window since “we had a lot of work with bringing the DLC up to the level of quality that we intended”.
“Magic Mayhem was something we intended to do and still is a possibility, but not a likelyhood. The idea was to have small mini games that would really make use of the Wii U Gamepad. In the end we had a lot of work with bringing the DLC up to the level of quality that we intended, so scrapping the Magic Mayhem for the launch window made sense.”
The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct heading to Wii U

Activision will be bringing The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct to Wii U.
According to producer Glenn Gamble, the title will take advantage of the GamePad for a more streamlined inventory management system. Players will have access to their backpack at all times, and can easy swap out weapons.
Gamble told Digital Spy:
“We were over halfway through the project when the Wii U thing started coming about. We didn’t want to change the game, because the game had already been established, so we tried to say, ‘What can we augment with the Wii U version?’ That’s where it’s basically a more elegant inventory management system. With the Wii U you have access to your backpack at all times, so you can tap what weapons you want, you can drop stuff. It’s a lot more streamlined.”
The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct has a European release date of March 29 on all platforms.
Thanks to Captain N for the tip.
Pokemon X/Y not a reboot, “been a long time coming”, more
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Podcast Stories | 0 comments
Pokemon X and Y may feature 3D visuals, but it isn’t a reboot in the slightest. Pokemon Company International director of consumer marketing J.C. Smith says that these latest games simply represent “new things and express the world in a new way.”
“There’s never been a conscious decision to reboot. There’s always been an evolution of the look and feel; it just happens to be that we played Black and White, and Heart Gold and Soul Silver, and Diamond and Pearl, and Platinum — all of those games on the same platform. So it feels like it’s been a long time in the same way. But between the original Game Boy and Game Boy Color, and moving up into the DS now, it’s always had that change. There’s never been a conscious decision to reboot, it’s just a decision to try new things and express the world in a new way.”
Famitsu teases huge Capcom project, long-awaited secret title

Famitsu’s teasers have generally turned out to be disappointing as of late. This latest one is a real doozy, though.
At the end of the current magazine, Famitsu promises two big scoops for next week’s issue. The first is some sort of “huge Capcom project”. The second, slightly less clear, is a long-awaited game that has been kept quiet. Next week, “information on that title becomes clear at last.”
Check your power meter in Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission

Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission is incorporating a new feature. The arcade-to-3DS title will contain a scouter that allows players to determine their power levels. Look into the 3DS camera, and the game will then take a picture of your face.
There’s more to the scouter than just a power level indicator. By scanning people, users may receive Zeni and items. Great Ape Vegeta may also appear if you scan a high enough level, and you’ll be able to fight him with friends.
Police recover trucks, but no stolen Wii Us

In December, a group of robbers collected 7,000 Wii U consoles from a warehouse in Seattle and then drove off in trucks. Police have since located “two trailers and a box truck”, but no Wii U systems.
The chances of finding the stolen stock aren’t too high at the moment. Still, there is some hope, and SeaTac detectives are working with the Los Angeles based “Cargo Theft Task Force”. Police have also raised the reward to $10,000 – which admittedly pales in comparison to the $2 million worth of Wii U systems stolen.
