Rumor: Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games in the works, announcement imminent
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, Rumors, Wii | 0 comments
Here’s a shocker: Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is most likely in development. And if a press release Czech website Zing.cz is accurate, SEGA should be confirming the news in the near future. The PR notes that the title is in development for both the Wii and 3DS, and, unsurprisingly, will feature new sports/mini-games. Check out the complete translated PR below.
Sega announces the continuation of the popular series, Mario & Sonic, this time at the summer Olympic Games in London 2012
SEGA and Nintendo have announced that after many years of partnership Mario and Sonic, once again join forces. The legendary series that have sold over 19 million, now will head to London for the Olympic Games 2012, the official name of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games on the Wii and also the very first time on a revolutionary portable Nintendo 3DS.
Many new and exciting sports like soccer and riding, which will debut on the Wii version, will appear alongside the traditional Olympic disciplines such as athletics, water sports, or table tennis. The new sports will certainly further encourage sports enthusiasm among the play
ers in both single and multiplayer modes!
Wii 2 Rockstar/GTA V rumors, other speculation
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U | 0 comments
I came really, really close to not posting this since I personally don’t believe it’s happening, but I thought I might as well add it here for the sake of completion. And yes, the source is from the same website that leaked the NGP specs (we’ve told you about that before). I’m still having trouble believing the following, though…
– Rockstar has a dev kit
– Company is making GTA V, won’t be a Wii 2-exclusive
– Rockstar would like to have the game ready for launch
– Late 2012 launch
– Tech demos and some games will be shown at E3 in June
As always, you should take these rumors with a huge grain of salt. Hopefully we’ll get clarification on a few things if Nintendo says anything about the console at their investor’s meeting next week.
Rumor: Maximilian and the Rise of the Mutant Mudds making a comeback
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in DS, General Nintendo, Rumors | 0 comments
Is Maximilian and the Rise of the Mutant Mudds seeing a revival? Well, if the game’s newly opened site and Twitter account are any indication, the answer to that question is a resounding yes.
The title appeared to be all but cancelled due to Renegade Kid not receiving enough positive responses on their blog. But the new site shows a 2D Max character in sprite form, along with the following message:
“Hi, this is Max. I found a mysterious website. Please check it out here: http://www.mutantmudds.com. It seems as though I have been reduced to my purest form: pixels. I find this to be somewhat alarming while also refreshing.”
Perhaps Renegade Kid is planning on giving Maximilian and the Rise of the Mutant Mudds another shot, albeit in another style. It isn’t even entirely clear if we’ll still see Max in a game, but the chances are stronger than they were a few months ago. Hopefully we’ll receive some answers sooner rather than later.
IGN “confirms” streaming games on controller, screen size?
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii | 0 comments
Check out these two blurbs from the latest IGN article…
“According to our sources, the new Nintendo controller will feature dual analog sticks in addition to standard d-pad and trigger buttons. It’ll mirror a Gamecube controller in general function but not in specific form.”
“Sources now confirm to IGN the new Nintendo controller allows players to stream entire games to the device from the console, saying it’s like a miniature television. The screen size on the controller is also confirmed to be six inches in size.”
It sounds like the “screen on the controller” idea is really picking up steam. The concept seems interesting, but I’d like to see it in execution. If IGN is correct, we’ll be seeing first and third-party games at E3… so we’ll also be able to check out the controller for the first time. That is, if all of these “sources” know what they’re talking about!
IGN’s Reilly offers more Wii 2 rumors – controller details, streaming content, E3 note
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Rumors, Wii | 0 comments
Ready for more Wii 2 rumors? I hope so, since IGN’s Jim Reilly just posted more speculation on his Twitter account. According to his messages, the console’s controller will have dual analog sticks and the system itself is capable of streaming content. However, it isn’t clear if that includes full games, mini-games, or just applications. Reilly also claims that both first and third-party games will make an appearance at the show, though it’s anyones guess if they’ll be playable or not.
“Dual analog sticks on the controller. Can stream game content from the console. Not sure if it’ll be full games, mini-games, or apps. There will be first and third party ‘Wii 2’ games at E3. No clue if they’ll be playable.”
Wii successor rumors: 01Net edition – codename, specs, tablet controller and more
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U | 0 comments
It’s almost 10:45 AM here, and we’re already up to three “Wii 2/Wii HD” stories. Anyone want to take a guess as to how many we’ll finish with by the end of today? Anyway, on to the matter at hand…
01Net has posted another batch of Wii successor rumors. Again, these are the folks that leaked specs for the NGP. That doesn’t mean that the content below is true, of course.
– Codenamed “Project Café”
– E3 2011 reveal
– Architecture is very similar to the Xbox 360
– Café is a bit more powerful than the 360
– Easy to port Xbox 360 games
– Retro-compatible with GameCube and Wii games
– Should support all Wii peripherals
– Specs: CPU is custom IBM PowerPC with three cores, GPU should be an ATI from the R700 family, with a shader unit at version 4.1, RAM should be at least 512 Mb
– Controller is a touch tablet, moderate graphic output (sub-HD, not like an iPad)
– Controller specs: 6-inch screen, single touch, front camera, acts as a Wii sensor bar, d-pad, two bumpers, two triggers, possibly more
– June 2012 release in Japan, Holiday 2012 release in the West
– Another big surprise for the console that can’t be discussed yet
Wii successor rumors: EDGE edition
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U | 0 comments
The following information comes from EDGE. Like every other rumor we’ve posted on the site thus far, be circumspect of the speculation…
– Ubisoft, Activision, EA are among the third-parties working on the console
– These studios have had development units for months
– System retains motion controls
– Its capabilities are “better than Move”
– Unclear if a camera is involved with the console’s motion abilities
Yet another Wii successor rumor: Touch capability for controller
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U | 0 comments
Talk around the web suggests, unsurprisingly, that the controller for Nintendo’s next console will be very original. CVG’s sources believe it will feature an HD screen. Now IGN has offered a rumor of their own, saying that the controller even has touch capability.
“A report from CVG states the new Nintendo console will use an all-new controller – not an updated Wii controller – with sources saying it will have a built-in screen. Additional sources informed IGN the screen has touch capability.”
You really have to wonder how much of what we’ve been hearing is true, and what aspects are false. It’s a shame that E3 is so far away…
More Wii successor rumors – Controller with an HD screen, Blu-ray drive
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U | 0 comments
This information comes from an anonymous source speaking to CVG…
“Nintendo’s plans sound unreal. Publishers are already planning launch titles and it’s all very exciting. The hardware is even more powerful than current HD consoles and backwards compatible with Wii. The controller will be all-new and has a HD screen on it.”
Another rumor comes from Blu-ray.com, which claims that Nintendo is looking into Blu-ray as the console’s main optical drive. This is just one of many, many rumors we’ve heard about in the past few hours. Expect even more speculation as we come closer to E3.
