Rumor: Wii loses NBA Jam exclusivity
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii | 1 Comment
Once touted as a Wii-exclusive, NBA Jam will now apparently will be released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, too. Well, that’s if the latest USK ratings from Germany are to be believed. Nothing is confirmed at the moment, though there have been a few signs pointing to HD versions of the game, such as a listing found on a developer’s LinkedIn profile a few months back.
Interestingly, Reggie Fils-Aime stated during Nintendo’s E3 press conference that NBA Jam for Wii is an “exclusive version.” Does this mean that the Wii title will offer content not seen on the PS3/360? Hopefully EA will clear things up sometime soon!
Play.com says 3DS games will release this November
Posted on 14 years ago by Austin(@NE_Austin) in 3DS, Rumors | 2 Comments
Here’s the next shot fired from the rumor gun: Play.com is reporting that a certain title (namely the 3DS DragonBall game) will release this November, specifically on the 19th. It is safe to assume that if a 3DS game is out, the system is already out as well in most cases. What is odd about this is that the site also has a listing for the Gundam 3DS game for a March 25, 2011 release date, which means we have two oddly specific release dates for some relatively obscure games. Chances are we’ll never really know the release date until Nintendo announces it themselves, but it’s fun to speculate!
Perhaps Ono was teasing a Darkstalkers game
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Rumors | 4 Comments
A few days ago, Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono teased a new project on his Twitter account. Ono only stated that Super Street Fighter IV “is nothing compared to what’s coming.” While it still isn’t entirely clear which title he was referring to, there is a small sign that it could be a new Darkstalkers title.
Last Monday, Ono noted that he had a proposal to give to Keiji Inafune. He said that his presentation was a success a day later. When a fan asked if he could make a Darkstalkers/Vapre game, Ono said, “I’m left speechless yet….. Shhhh.”
There have been a number of different indications recently that Ono would love to make a new Darkstalkers title. Since there seems to be huge interest there, it seems more than possible that an announcement will be made sometime in the near future.
Rumor: Beta art shows new Pokemon
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in DS, Rumors | 2 Comments
The image above is supposedly beta art from the new Pokemon anime, but it’s legitamacy hasn’t been confirmed 100%. In the picture, a new bat Pokemon called Koromori (besides Jessie), the evolution of Tsutaja and Mijumaru, and a new Pokemon next to Iris are shown. That’s the only information we have now, though if it’s true, these Pokemon will probably be showing up in Black/White.
Rumor: UK source pins early December release for 3DS, stock will be limited
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, Rumors | 1 Comment
Initial UK trade sources believed that the 3DS would be launching sometime in October. However, that no longer seems likely. A high-ranking UK retail source has told CVG that the system will now be released in early December, with a marketing campaign planned to start at the end of October. It also should be noted that limited stock is expected.
“Early indications to us are that the launch is going to emulate Wii in December. We’ve been informed that Nintendo wanted a long run-up to Christmas, but now it’s going to be a close-run thing. We’re not expecting a lot of stock before next year.” – UK source
Rumor: 3DS can record 3D footage
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, Rumors | 6 Comments
As was revealed earlier this week, the 3DS can take 3D photos thanks to two outer cameras. However, no one has really brought up the idea of recording 3D footage on the system. So, is it possible? Well, according to a Nnooo programmer, there was a demo at E3 showing off that very feature.
“We also saw this tech demo that used the camera which actually recorded 3D, so that was something that Nintendo didn’t confirm, so hopefully they confirm it. But from what I saw, it actually recorded footage in 3D. So that tech demo was really good…”
I assume Nnooo knows what they’re talking about, but like he said, it has yet to be officially confirmed. The ability to record 3D footage could be a huge selling point for Nintendo, so let’s hope they integrate it into the system.
Rumor: Paper Mario 3DS listing on European Nintendo site points to release date
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, Rumors | 2 Comments
I’ve been receiving quite a few emails about this, but I’m not really sure how much truth there is to it. In any case, the listing above comes from one of Nintendo’s European sites, which states Paper Mario 3DS will be available on March 25, 2011. And since people believe that will be a launch title for the system, gamers are speculating that the 3DS will be out the same day in Europe. For now, I’m assuming that’s just a temporary listing, though we’ll see what happens.

Rumor: 3DS likely releasing in one territory this year
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, Rumors | 1 Comment
Eurogamer is reporting that Nintendo is aiming to launch this 3DS in at least one territory this year and believes the system will definitely see a worldwide release “by early next year.” While the company is looking to have the handheld in stores for the holiday season, it’s possible that the launch could be delayed until 2011. Nintendo declined to comment on the 3DS’ release date or price, though it has been said that it will be out before the fiscal year ending March 2011.
Rumor: 3DS allows games to be copied to internal memory
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, Rumors | 4 Comments
According to Nikkei, consumers will be able to copy 3DS titles directly to the system’s memory. Once copied, players will be able to choose which game to play through the handheld’s main menu. The obvious benefits of doing this is that there will be no need to continually swap cartridges. Nintendo has yet to officially confirm the news, but considering Nikkei’s track record, I think it’s safe to say that this feature will probably end up in the 3DS.
