ATV Wild Ride 3D inches one step closer to a release on the 3DS eShop. Renegade Kid co-founder has confirmed on Twitter that the digital title has been approved by Nintendo of America, which is pretty much the last step in the submission process. It’ll now be up to Nintendo to decide when ATV Wild Ride 3D will hit the eShop.

Watsham also noted that ATV Wild Ride 3D has been submitted to Japan. The game needs “a final seal of approval” before hitting the Japanese eShop.

A good amount of 3DS games these days launch at retail and on the eShop. Rune Factory 4, a newly confirmed localization release from XSEED, may head down this path.

XSEED’s Tom Lipschultz said the publisher will make the 3DS title available through the eShop if possible:

“Game’s pretty big, so I don’t know if it’ll fit on the eshop. We’ll do it if we can, though, I’m sure.”

Lipschultz also noted that Rune Factory 4 likely won’t be getting a demo:

“And I don’t think it has a demo, so probably no on that front. If you’ve enjoyed previous Rune Factory games, though, then chances are you’ll enjoy Rune Factory 4 — it’s pretty much the biggest, most complex and most charming Rune Factory yet.”
