Jett Rocket 3DS was originally subtitled “Super Surf”. Ultimately, this was nothing more than a codename.

Developer Shin’en confirmed on Twitter today that the eShop game will be known as “Jett Rocket II – The Wrath of Taikai”:

Capcom is looking to bring some of its older 3DS titles to the eShop “in the coming months”, according to Christian Svensson.

Svensson wrote on the Capcom-Unity boards:

“Many of our other previously released 3DS titles will be coming to the eShop in the coming months. Details to follow when we’re closer to release.”

Based on Svensson’s words, games such as Super Street Fighter IV 3D and Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D will be making their way to the digital store in the future. Hopefully Resident Evil: Revelations and the upcoming Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will also be available through the eShop.

Fire Emblem: Awakening will be available at retail and through digital means when it launches next month. If you decide to download the title, make sure you have 8,579 blocks of free space on an SD card.

Awakening is one of the larger retail titles, but the size isn’t too bad. It takes up more space compared to Super Mario 3D Land, Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, and Paper Mario: Sticker Star, though it’s certainly less than Style Savvy: Trendsetter’s 10,500 blocks.

Shin’en has almost completed development on Jett Rocket: Super Surf. The 3DS eShop game is expected to arrive “early this year”, according to Shin’en.

On YouTube, the studio wrote:

“Jett Rocket 3DS is nearly completed and? will be released early this year.”

Despite being confirmed quite awhile ago, Jett Rocket: Super Surf remains an enigma. Shin’en hasn’t outlined how the game will play, nor has it released any official media. Hopefully that’ll be changing soon!
