Sakurai answers fans letters in his column in Weekly Famitsu

Masahiro Sakurai, the creator of Super Smash Bros. series has been very open through his columns in Weekly Famitsu about the development process and the toll that it has taken on his life, and this time is no exception.
In his latest column he answers fans letters and one fan asked him:
“Hello, Mr. Sakurai. It sounds like development of Smash Bros. was really, really hard. Reading your column sent shivers up my spine. I’ve never seen you so worn out. It made me appreciate the new Smash Bros. more than ever.”
Sakurai responded by saying:
“It was very tough this time around… I doubt I’ll be able to go on making games if it continues like this. But, I consider myself lucky that so many people seem to enjoy [Smash Bros.]”
Although this might seem like a slightly more positive outlook than previous statements there is no doubt that game development can be a lot of hard work and this game seemed to be no exception. Sakurai has clearly given quite a bit of love and passion to the Super Smash Bros. Series.
Aonuma reflects on Majora’s Mask’s short dev time, was originally worried about fans accepting the game

Majora’s Mask might be one of the most interesting games in the Zelda series. Not only is the title darker and different from other entries, but development itself was also atypical.
Eiji Aonuma reflected on the original release of Majora’s Mask in a recent issue of GamesMaster. In his chat with the magazine, he discussed the game’s short development cycle, and how “innovation truly comes when you have to work under some kind of big pressure.”

Thanks to supplementary financial results information issued by Nintendo, we now have a fresh release schedule and million sellers list from the company.
In terms of release dates, Yoshi’s Woolly World is still apparently targeted for the first half of 2015 in North America and Europe. Other games like Mario Maker, Zelda, and Star Fox have vague “2015” dates. Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem is still on the list as “TBD”.
You can find the full release schedule and million sellers list in the gallery above.
