Iwata: Animal Crossing has appeal overseas

During Nintendo’s latest financial results briefing, an investor told president Satoru Iwata that he believes Animal Crossing: Wild World “was not so well appreciated” in the west in terms of sales. This isn’t so, Iwata said.
Wild World sold at least five million copies overseas. This may not seem like a huge figure compared to Japan’s success, “but there are already some core fans of the Animal Crossing series overseas too.”
Iwata explained:
You mentioned that the reception of “Animal Crossing: Wild World” was not so good overseas. The sales of this game have reached no less than five million copies overseas. There are few companies whose result of selling more than five million copies of a product is considered not up to scratch. It is true that the sales figure overseas, meaning in the U.S. and Europe, is relatively small compared to the fact that the number of sales has surpassed five million copies only in Japan, but there are already some core fans of the Animal Crossing series overseas too. When we announced “Animal Crossing: New Leaf” through our Japanese Nintendo Direct presentation, many consumers worldwide viewed it on the Internet and we received a lot of requests from overseas consumers who wanted to play it as soon as possible. We would like to first promote the attractions of this game to such a core fan base.
Pokemon Black/White 2: Meloetta to be distributed at GameStop

Pokemon Black/White 2 players will be able to add Meloetta to their game starting on March 4. Through March 24, GameStop will be running an in-store promotion for the Pokemon’s distribution.
Those who acquire Meloetta can take advantage of its Aria and Pirouette forms. The Pokemon is capable of activating Pirouette Form after the Relic Song is used in battle.

Capcom: Still no news on Ace Attorney Investigations 2 localization

Fans may still be clamoring for Ace Attorney Investigations 2 to be brought overseas, but the game remains as a Japanese-only release. Unfortunately, Capcom’s latest update on the title isn’t too encouraging.
The possibility of Ace Attorney Investigations 2 localization was once again brought up during the most recent Ask Capcom stream. Responding to the inquiry, Capcom’s Christian Svensson noted that “there’s still no new news to share.” While he is still including Investigations 2 in proposals, “nothing has changed”.
Svensson stated:
“… in the case of Investigations 2, the answer is no, there’s still no new news to share. No movement on that front. I will only continue to say that I continue to bring it up in proposals. It continues to sit in some hoppers, but nothing is moving forward there right now at the moment. So status quo – nothing has changed.”

‘Forgotten Legions’ is finished and should hit DSiWare “soon”

According to developer Cypronia, the DSiWare (and subsequently 3DS eShop) strategy game Forgotten Legions has completed development and should make its way to download “soon”. No word on how soon that is, whether it’s been properly submitted to Nintendo, or whether there could be additional development time, but if we hear anything we’ll keep you posted!
